Posthorn on self-adhesive paper
Dear Customer,
As of 2014 most
of the posthorn
stamps 2014, the
posthorn stamps
are being issued
on self-adhesive
paper*. This applies
to both new issues
as well as reprints of
existing denominations. In addition, the
sheets will be divided
into two sections,
each with 50
stamps, separated
by an empty field.
One of the major events of the year is the
Norwegian Constitution Bicentennial, and
it is also being celebrated on stamps. Enzo
Finger and Sverre Morken have together
designed four gorgeous stamps for the
jubilee. The stamps were issued on the 16th
of May, the day before Norwegian Constitution Day.
Personalised stamps are popular among
tourists visiting Norway. In order to help
the tourist attractions be even better at
meeting demand, we are issuing a personal
stamp with international postage. The
motif on the stamps sent to stamp collectors is the Northern Lights.

This summer, Fredrikstad and Bergen will
be visited by The Tall Ships Races. Norway
Post will be on site at both events, and we
would love a visit from you. If you will not be

Gutter pair in subscription
Dividing the sheets into two creates what in stamp
lingo is called “gutter pairs”. Gutter pairs are two
stamps that are separated by an empty field (gutter).
It is now possible to subscribe to gutter pairs. You can
choose between single pairs in the wished quantity or
stripes from the complete sheet with marigins. Use the

Every year many people celebrate Norway’s National Day
at the historic Eidsvoll Manor
House where Norway’s constitution was adopted. This year
there were even more people
who wanted to celebrate the
Bicentennial! And with royal

visits from Sweden, Denmark
and Norway, the event became
very formal.

For the celebration in Eidsvoll on the 17th of May, Norway
Post is issuing a ready franked postcard. The motif on the
card is the Eidsvoll Manor House, beautifully painted by
Peder Balke in 1837. The card naturally has a cancellation
from Eidsvoll (Eidsvoll Verk) dated 17 May 2014.

In May Norway Post participated
in two stamp exhibitions in
Germany: Nordposta in Hamburg
and Internationale BriefmarkenMesse in Essen. By tradition,
we issued exhibition cards and
personalised stamps to mark
these occasions.

Hamburg
2 – 4 May 2014
The motif of the exhibition card was taken from
the newly renovated Speicherstadt at the Port
of Hamburg. The motif on the personalised
stamp is Bergen’s pride, ”Statsraad Lehmkuhl”.
She was a training ship in Germany during her
prime. She was built in Elsfleth by Bremerhafen
and was at that time called ”Grossherzog
Friedrich August”.

8 – 10 May 2014
The gorgeous building housing the Aalto
Theater in Essen has been given the honour
of representing the city on this year’s exhibition
card. Zollverein is the motif on the personalised
stamp. The old coal mine in Essen is on UNESCO’s
World Heritage list.
Both of the personalised stamps have the
denomination A Europe.
