McDonald`s Children`s Gasparilla Extravaganza January 22, 2011
Saturday
December 4, 2010
10 a.m. – 4 p.m.
Tampa’s
Downtown
Holiday Parade
begins at 10 a.m.
In 1983, on Franklin Street in downtown Tampa, a Holiday tradition was born in
downtown Tampa as the City of Tampa’s Parks and Recreation Office created a
magical, musical holiday event for the families of our community to enjoy – and
Tampa’s Santa Fest & Holiday Parade was born. Following recent years of holiday
cheer in Ybor City’s Centennial Park, Tampa’s Santa Fest & Holiday Parade returns
to downtown Tampa on December 4th.
Santa Fest 2010 is sure to get you in the
holiday spirit as Curtis Hixon
Waterfront Park and adjacent Kiley
Gardens is transformed into a winter
wonderland with activities and
amusements for the entire family
amidst continuous holiday
entertainment.
The young, and the young at heart, can visit with Santa and enjoy the sounds of
the season as Tampa’s Riverwalk comes alive with Holiday cheer for all to enjoy.
Tampa’s Downtown Holiday Parade will begin
at Pierce and Madison in downtown Tampa,
and travel west on Madison to Ashley Street.
The parade will continue north on Ashley Street,
and end at Cass and Ashley, as this year’s Santa Fest activities are planned for the
spacious new Curtis Hixon Waterfront Park and adjacent Kiley Gardens on the
Riverwalk between Ashley Street and the Hillsborough
River, from Madison to Cass Street, in the heart of
downtown Tampa’s new cultural Arts District.
This area defines Tampa’s picturesque new Special Events
Park situated across the river in downtown Tampa from the
historic minarets of Plant Hall at the University of Tampa.
Plans call for an expansion of Santa Fest in the coming year’s
to incorporate a holiday tree lighting and anchor one of the season’s favorite
sights … a lighted boat parade along the Hillsborough River in downtown Tampa.
Destined to become a new treasure
discovered at Santa Fest in 2010 is a full size
outdoor ice skating rink erected for the
holiday season in Curtis Hixon Waterfront
Park in downtown Tampa.
Tampa’s Downtown on Ice will feature a
45’ x 100’ outdoor ice skating rink, open for
public skating season 11 a.m. til 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday, with extended
public skating hours on Friday and Saturday (10 a.m. – 10 p.m.).
Plans allow for Tampa’s Downtown on Ice to be the most unique and memorable
holiday party* of the season in Tampa, with private parties hosted Sunday through
Thursday evenings from 8:30 p.m. til 11 p.m.
