Maddevi is an alternative rock band located in Guadalajara, Mexico. While developing as independent artists, they present a rock live act with
some elements from electronic music such as rhythm sequences and synthesizers, but also recalling sounds of dance, new wave and postpunk.

Bio
The history of Maddevi started to be written in the
Guadalajara’s local scene after some random events, in
the second half of 2008. At first, Erick and Juan did meet
at the university and they decided to make together a
new project based on electronic music, supported by
Erick’s skills on the guitar.
When the project was just starting after a very few
rehearsals, they noticed something was missing in the
sound of the new band and a bass player joined the
project. The sound was clearer and that’s how Maddevi
started to work on its firsts songs with its first 3 members
line-up.
The name of Maddevi was created by joining the word
Maddening and Devi (Indian word for goddess).

The first live shows occurred at
local events and parties in
Guadalajara beside other local
bands like Hong Kong Blood
Opera, Teletransportador, etc.
During this time Maddevi
recorded its first demo,
conformed by three songs:
Stare&Hide, Sandstorm Troopers
and Dr. Goldstein, it was recorded
with a very modest equipment at
their home studio.
Meanwhile the idea of adding a
drum set to the Maddevi’s sound
was still and during the first
quarter of 2009, Erick suggested
his friend Felipe, who was already
his partner in previous bands.
That increased the power of the
songs at live performances and
more freedom while composing
new songs

In the last days of 2009 the bass player
decided to leave the band and César was
chosen as the new member of the band.
He did already played with Erick and
Felipe in another music project.
It took some months to adapt the
previous work to the new line-up. After
that, the band continued the task of
composing new songs, and the return to
a live stage did not happen until
September 2010.
In march 2011, Maddevi joined the event
‘Rock n’ Loud’, organized by the Tommy
Hilfiger company and then played at the
2nd anniversary of the NYLON Magazine
Mexico, sharing the stage with !!! (chk
chk chk).

Maddevi officially launched its first album on July 19th, 2012 at the Barramericano Bar in Guadalajara.

In November 2012 Maddevi toured at the
cultural event «El Sonido de las Letras»
and played eight shows at schools of the
University of Guadalajara. They got a
positive response from the audience.
After finishing the tour the band played
at the party Antes del Fin del Mundo in
Teatro Estudio Cavaret on December 8,
2012.

By now the band is recording its second album which will be released
on January 2016 with its first single: Estás ahí, which was produced by
Aldo Muñoz Arellano.
The new video clip is about to be featured at the San Antonio Laughs
Comedy Film Slam (San Antonio, Texas) and the Rock 'n' Roll Film
Festival (Nairobi, Kenya).
