Check rubber tips for rips, tears, cracks or wear. If any of these conditions exist, replace rubber tip immediately. Probasics Canes can provide ambulatory assistance for an individual weighing up to 250 lbs (114 kg). Probasics Bariatric Canes can provide ambulatory assistance for an individual weighing up to 500 lbs (225 kg). The canes are designed to provide support, increased stability and assistance to the end user while walking. The canes are NOT designed to support the total weight of individuals. QUAD CANE/ ECONOMY CURVED HANDLE CANE/OFFSET CANES WARNINGS Single or Double-button MUST be fully engaged and protruding through height adjustment hole on cane handle to ensure a positive lock. ALWAYS test to see that cane handle is properly and securely locked in place BEFORE using. Make certain cam lock is secure at all times. When using a Quad Cane, the cane should be placed on the walking surface with all four legs in contact with, and vertical tube perpendicular to, the walking service. Use of cane in a fashion other than this can lead to eventual cane damage and/or personal injury. Extra care should be exercised when walking on a slippery or wet surface. If cane is exposed to extreme temperature (above 100°F or below 32°F), high humidity and/or becomes wet, prior to use, ensure handgrips do not twist on cane handle – otherwise damage or injury may occur. For stability, ensure that longest/or flattest portion of base is closest to foot – otherwise, injury or damage may occur. It may be necessary to adjust Quad cane for right-hand or left-hand use. Refer to ADJUSTING QUAD CANES in this instruction booklet. 3 FOLDING CANE WARNINGS Ensure that the snap button fully protrudes through adjustment hole of the cane. This ensures that the cane is securely locked in position. BEFORE using the Folding Cane, ensure that it is securely locked in place or a fall could result, causing bodily injury and/or damage to the cane. PROPER CANE HEIGHT For a more comfortable fit, ensure shoe height is the same as shoe style worn most frequently when using cane. 1. Stand as upright as possible on a firm, flat surface and let your arm hang down naturally by your side. 2. FOLDING CANES, ECONOMY CURVED HANDLE CANES, AND QUAD CANES-adjust cane so top portion of handle touches inside of wrist where it meets palm.
