of the Catholic faith and the partnership of schools with families to create opportunities for
encouraging life to the full in all its personal, spiritual, social, ecological and cultural
dimensions. This understanding of ourselves as a system and the current social and
financial reality here in Adelaide has lead to the strategy goal to ‘Strengthen and

Author Visit
Last week Preschool to Year 3 students were visited
by local author, Bernadette Cashel-Smith. Bernadette
read to the children from her new book about the
Easter Bunny called, ‘Is the secret safe?’ I was told
by Bernadette that she was amazed by the insightful
questions the children asked her and by their
excellent behaviour and listening skills. The book was
officially launched last Saturday at the Hindmarsh Library.

School Community Prayer Book
A book has been placed at the front gate entrance of the school to record any prayers from our
school community. Please use this book to record any prayers you have that you would like our
community to join with you in praying.
Please also feel free to write in the language you are most comfortable with.
Many thanks
Community Prayer
Community Prayer is a new initiative that we will be trialling this year. It will be held
fortnightly on odd weeks on WEDNESDAY mornings in the courtyard. On these
morning students will not be able to go upstairs to classrooms until after
community prayer. At 8:45am a bell will sound and children, parents and staff are
invited to gather in the courtyard. This community prayer will allow us as a
community to reflect for a little time on a current event or Feast day, providing a
prayerful experience for all involved.
Parents/ caregivers, students and teachers are all encouraged to attend.
Student Leadership Team (SLT) 2015
I would like to congratulate the
following students for being chosen
to be on the Student Leadership
Team this semester. The SLT will
work diligently on school based
project in order to make the school
and our community a better place.


The website is www.prc.sa.edu.au (printed at the top

BOOKLIST tab allows you to have access to all books
that are selected for the Premier’s Reading Challenge
– previous and current year. It organises books in
year levels and also has them organised under
themes.

This is a reading challenge, so try something
different to what you usually read and try different
authors.

Years 3 to 7 - no more than 2 books from a series (ie.
Boyz Rule!, Horrible Histories etc.) and no more than
2 books by the same author (ie. Duncan Ball, J.K.
Rowling, Andy Griffiths, Geronimo Stilton etc.)

class. The teacher will record the books read.
