FOREWORD
No other invention has had so profound an impact upon human life as the
computer. Starting from the huge, bulky machines which filled up entire rooms in
the 1940s to the very small ones used today in iPods and digital watches, computers
are now a part of everyday life.
It is with this in mind that this book was created. As befits a style of learning
where children are guided by their own experience rather than being taught what
to do, this book is a journey of discovery in which children are introduced to useful
ideas and tasks related to information technology.
We hope that the knowledge gained from this book by the children, and the
enjoyment and satisfaction of the journey itself, will be a source of pride to all!
