Water is one of the essential elements we are made of.
We have both been spending energy thinking about
and considering shapes of water. By observing each
other we have realized we have a lot in common, sharing
ideals, ideas, aims and attitudes. That is why it has been
natural to join together and create the Aboutwater project.
Aboutwater is a partnership between two leading
companies: Boffi and Fantini. The partnership is based on
the concept of creating a new collection of faucets
and shower systems with a modern and elegant design,
conceptually excellent and flawless to be distributed
through the sales network of the two companies,
cooperating and aiming to extend the market beyond
their respective segments.
All Aboutwater products are manufactured under strict practices and with materials
that respect the health of the environment, assuring the best duration and intolerability
over time and facilitating the cleaning operations.

Washbasin mixers manufactured with Brass that are in contact with drinking water do not contain
lead at levels higher than 0.25%, complying with US standard NSF/ANSI 372, which is currently
the most advanced international standard to safeguard consumer health.

STAINLESS STEEL
The AF/21 series designed by Naoto Fukasawa is also available in the Brushed Stainless Steel
an eco-compatible material, which guarantees the maximum hygiene and resistance to corrosion.

AF/21 by Naoto Fukasawa, in polished chrome and brushed stainless steel,
is the result of an exploration into the simplification of forms, thought out in terms
of maximum clarity. The design is reduced almost to a pure icon, where the aesthetic
quality of materials is emphasized.
The faucets and shower systems become discs and cylinders; the faucets reminiscent
of the forms found on the controls of a stereo, the shower system the concise elegance
of the language of iconography.

NAOTO FUKASAWA
PIERO LISSONI
Naoto Fukasawa was born in Yamanashi Prefecture in
1956. He graduated from Tama Art University in 1980.
In 1989 he moved to the United States and joined the
San Francisco design firm ID Two. He worked on a
number of products related to Silicon Valley computing
and electronics technology. In 1996, he returned to Japan
to start and head up IDEO’s Tokyo office. He came up
with the design for a wall-mounted CD player, that was
taken up and released by MUJI and has proved popular
world-wide. In 2004, MoMA in New York selected this CD
player for its permanent collection. In 2003 he founded
Naoto Fukasawa Design. In the same year he launched ±0
(Plus Minus Zero), a new brand of electronic household
appliances and equipment. Since 2005, he has worked
on projects with major companies in Italy, Germany,
Switzerland and Northern Europe. In 2005, he founded
Super Normal with Jasper Morrison. In June 2006, the first
Super Normal exhibition was held in Tokyo and London.
In 2007, he was awarded the title of Hon RDI (Honorable
Royal Designer for Industry) by the Royal Society of Arts
in London. Fukasawa is on the design advisory board
for MUJI and is one of the directors for 21_21 Design Sight.
He is a professor at Musashino Art University and at Tama
Art University. He has won several prizes for design in
Europe and in the USA, and is the author of books about
design. In 2007, Phaidon dedicated a monograph to him.
Piero Lissoni studied Architecture at Politecnico di Milano.
After graduating in 1985, he began longstanding
collaborations with furniture manufacturers, as a designer
and as an Art Director, for Boffi, Living Divani and Porro.
Piero Lissoni, together with Nicoletta Canesi, founded
“Studio Lissoni” in 1986 which later became Lissoni Associati.
In 1996 they created Graph.x for the development of graphic
projects. The work of the studio includes architecture,
graphic and industrial design projects, ranging from furniture,
accessories, kitchens, bathroom and lighting fixtures
to corporate identity, with advertising, catalogues
and packaging. Interior projects include hotels, showrooms,
trade stands, private houses, shops and yachts.
The studio has clients such as Alessi, Benetton, Boffi,
Cappellini, Cassina, Flos/Antares, Fritz Hansen, Glas Italia,
Kartell, Knoll International, Lema, Living Divani, Poltrona Frau,
Porro, Tecno, Thonet and Wella. The most recent projects
include the restoration of the Teatro Nazionale in Milan,
the M Hotel Studio in Singapore; the suites for Pierre Hotel
in New York, and for the Taj Palace Hotel in Mumbai;
the new Headquarters of Glas Italia and Matteograssi;
stores and showrooms worldwide. Piero Lissoni has received
several awards throughout his career.
Boffi and Fantini, two design companies
of Italian design.
Both companies have achieved undisputed leadership
in their respective industries, thanks to excellent production
qualities, a high level of creativity and a strong international
profile. In spite of their international presence, Boffi
and Fantini preserves their passion for well-made products
and inheritance of their artisan origins, to make this
enthusiasm their key point for their competitive advantage.
Aboutwater, launched at Milan Design Week, presenting
two complete collections designed by Piero Lissoni and
Naoto Fukasawa.
Boffi is known worldwide for its high end furniture for kitchen,
bathroom and systems. The company has been held in high
esteem for decades as an innovative firm in not only design
and production, but also in distribution, communication and
production management.
Boffi has traditionally worked in the kitchen industry, winning
the Compasso d’Oro career award and moving in the 1990s
into the bathroom sector; this expansion led not only to new
products but also to aesthetic and technological refinements,
resulting in a brand new approach to the market.
Fantini represents cutting edge aesthetic research and technological
perfection in the high-end faucets and shower systems sector,
with a historic vocation for high precision to the engineer
and quality production. Founded in 1951, Fantini has become
a leader in the most demanding segment of the market, thanks
to an incomparable know-how and collaborations with famous
designers such as Enzo Mari, King & Miranda, Franco Sargiani,
Benedini Associati, Giovanna Talocci and Matteo Thun.
After the company’s first international success in 1977 with
the collection “I balocchi”, by Pedrizzetti and Mercatali, Fantini
has progressed year-on-year to become an indispensable landmark
for innovation in the bathroom industry and has won several
international awards and acknowledgements.
