Chery is China’s Number 1 Auto Exporter
for 8 consecutive years
Gaining a strong footing in the Chinese automobile industry, Chery topped the 2010 list as
the number one auto exporter in China. According to the National Passenger Car Information
Exchange Association (NPCIEA), by November 2010, Chery’s exports totaled 82,780 units,
accounting for 41.6% of the total exports – placing it in a solid first place as the numbers
are three times more than Great Wall Motor in second place.
Chery retained the export title for 8 consecutive years since 2003. The total exports of Chery
passenger vehicles are expected to top 500,000 in March 2011 to become the first Chinese
automaker with exports of over 500,000.
In October 2010, for the fifth year in a row, Chery was ranked among the “Most Admired Chinese
Companies” by Fortune, largely attributable to Chery’s outstanding export performance.
Signs that China’s auto industry is shaking off the impact of the global financial crisis is
clear with Chery’s monthly exports breaking the 10,000 mark again to reach 10,360 in
August 2010 - a statistic not seen since the global crisis in 2008.
This year Chery’s overseas market is expected
to grow. With constant improvements in
manufacturing
technology,
marketing
networks and product lines, the company’s
growth phase will be steadier than ever. The
company is also embarking on a global
strategy to strengthen its worldwide

Launched in April 2010 the 2.0 L, 7-seater was
nominated by Maybank for Car of the Year
2010 under the Compact MPV category. The
event was held from 20 to 21 November at the
Martrade Exhibition & Convention Centre in
Kuala Lumpur.
The Kuala Lumpur International Motor Show (KLIMS) was back again in 2010
from 3 to 12 December and this year Chery stepped up its game with not one,
not two but seven of its best models at the Putra World Trade Centre. The A5
BSG, M1-EV (Electric), Eastar MPV, Tiggo SUV, X1, Storm 2 and Transcom all
proved to be a hit with auto enthusiasts.
Chery Makes Fortune’s
“Most Admirable Chinese Companies”
list by for 5 consecutive years
Once again Chery made the list of” Most Admirable Chinese Companies in 2010,” a list compiled by
Fortune Magazine (China) and global management consultant, Hay Group. This is Chery’s fifth
consecutive year to be featured in the list.
To make the “Most Admirable Chinese Companies,” companies are evaluated based on nine
performance markers which include - product & service quality, ability to attract & retain talents and
social responsibility just to name a few. Winners were chosen from an online poll by 25,000 senior
corporate figures in a secret ballot. Chery again managed to find a spot on the list with its outstanding
performance.

16 October 2010 was a momentous day for Chery as it launched its Malaysian Headquarters in

Directors of Chery Alado Automobile Sdn Bhd in a ribbon-cutting ceremony. The day also
witnessed another equally exciting event - the unveiling of the 14-seater Chery Transcom.
