PARTNER WITH THE FUTURE
SCAD students and faculty solve real-world design challenges.
Our students work directly with the world’s leading companies
while earning their degrees. Collaborative endeavors afford students
unrivaled real-world experience, and, in return, industry partners
witness SCAD students’ energy and talent in action, benefiting from
new perspectives and fresh ideas. Through the SCAD Collaborative
Learning Center (CLC), students participate in groundbreaking
sponsored partnerships with industry leaders to create innovative
solutions to today’s most relevant business challenges.
SCAD AND FOX SPORTS TEAM UP
FOR SUPER BOWL XLVIII
Working with the CLC, 18 SCAD students partnered with FOX
Sports to design and produce the title graphics for Super Bowl
XLVIII, the largest and most-watched sporting event in the nation.
After conducting in-depth research, they developed three design
concepts that brought the story of Cleatus, the network’s robotic
football mascot, to life. The final animation was a half-minute slot
seen by more than 111.5 million viewers.
“
These young designers’ ambition and incredible work ethic
were an inspiration to our team at FOX Sports. We would
absolutely bring another project to SCAD.
”
— Michael Dolan, vice president of design, FOX Sports

PROFESSIONAL TOOLS
AND RESOURCES
SCAD students graduate with professional credentials.
SCAD students have all the advanced professional-level tools they need
to help them realize their creative visions and passions, with a vast
array of technology and equipment available at each SCAD location.
Specialized educational resources help students traverse their areas of
study and push the limits of their disciplines.
Wide-ranging and specialized certifications allow students to step onto
the professional stage after graduation ready to work. In sound design,
students have the rare opportunity to become Pro Tools certified
before graduating, because SCAD is an Avid Pro Tools certification
school for audio postproduction. In SCAD’s many film and digital media
degree programs, students utilize extensive film production facilities
and state-of-the-art equipment, including the Steadicam EFP (Ultra,
Flyer, and Shadow), Super Panther and Fisher dollies, two chroma key
green screen studios, an ICON D-Command recording studio, and a
Techno-Jib.
Students who earn Avid Pro Tools and Avid Media Composer
certification are registered on the Avid website and earn professional
credentials before graduation.

ENTERTAINMENT PROFESSIONALS
OF TOMORROW
SCAD graduates are well versed in the ever-evolving language
of art and design — they’re educated by faculty members who
bring invaluable professional experience to the classroom, uniting
digital media and entertainment arts curricula with the latest
technology.
Our graduates are accomplished, in every sense of the word.
They produce exemplary works that are screened at celebrated
film festivals across the globe, and they work for some of the most
venerable organizations and companies in the world.
More than anything, though, SCAD graduates are prepared for the
future, and they’re ready to be a part of your team and to help realize
your projects from concept to distribution.
“
Pixar recruiters have found their time spent with
SCAD students so rewarding, and at the rate we’re
going, Pixar will soon be known as ‘SCAD West.’
”
— Dawn Haagstad, lead recruiter for university relations, Pixar

Because of the breadth of our education — as
far as history, design and the whole spectrum
that goes into it, not just animation — I think
we’re allowed to be a bigger part of the pipeline.

From starring roles in blockbuster films
and critically acclaimed television shows,
to working on much-lauded epics and festivalcircuit darlings, SCAD students shine bright.

SAVANNAH
FILM FESTIVAL
2014
Each fall, SCAD presents the Savannah Film Festival, a weeklong
celebration of cinematic creativity, showcasing a panoply of
films by Hollywood heavyweights and emerging talents alike.
Attracting more than 50,000 attendees annually, the Savannah
Film Festival is the largest university film event in the nation
and is host to a wide variety of competition film and special
screenings, workshops, panels and lectures. Throughout the
event, acclaimed guests — a star-studded mix of award-winning
filmmakers and showbiz moguls — connect with students and
festivalgoers to share insights on the art and business of film.
“
It is a promotional stop for Oscar contenders, a
cherished spot for Hollywood luminaries and a
casually joyous social experience for lovers of
movies and the filmgoing experience.
”
