(July 27, 2016) – The Strongest Woman in The World 2016, the first ever professional Strongwoman contest, will be held August 27-28, 2016 in Jacksonville, Fla., where some of the strongest women on the planet will battle for a minimum of $10,000 in cash prizes and a trip to the first-ever Arnold Pro Strongwoman contest, event organizers announced today. The Strongest Woman In The World will serve was a qualifier for the Arnold Pro Strongwoman event set for March 2-5, 2017 at the Arnold Sports Festival in Columbus, Ohio. The only way to qualify for the Arnold Pro Strongwoman is at the Strongest Woman In The World event. The Strongest Woman in The World contest will feature many of the top Strongwomen in the world, some who can reportedly deadlift more than 450 pounds and press more than 230 pounds. The Strongest Woman in The World will be Webcast on FloElite. The Strongest Woman In The World and Arnold Pro Strongman will be produced by Strongman Corporation, which also produces the Arnold Amateur Strongman World Championships in addition to hundreds of professional and amateur events worldwide each year. “The time is right for the best amateur Strongwomen in the world to elevate and compete on the professional level,” said Dione Wessels, CEO and President of Strongman Corporation. “We look forward to giving these tremendous athletes a platform to compete as professionals and be rewarded with significant cash prizes.” The inaugural Arnold Pro Strongwoman event will be held at the 2017 Arnold Sports Festival set for March 2-5, 2017 in Columbus. Ten women from the Strongest Woman in the World event will be invited to compete for a minimum of $10,000 in cash prizes and the Katie Sandwina Trophy. The Arnold Pro Strongwoman contest is modeled after the Arnold Strongman Classic, which has been held annually at the Arnold Sports Festival since 2002 and is regarded as the most prestigious title in professional Strongman. The event is coordinated by Drs. Terry and Jan Todd and features the world’s strongest athletes from Strongman, powerlifting and other strength disciplines.
