Frequently Asked Questions Why book with MWR? Our agents have been trained extensively with each of the cruise lines. They know cruising and the ship amenities. We also have direct access to the cruise line inventories and you will not have to risk using an unknown web-site. All military fares and any other promotional fares are open for us to quote and confirm for your convenience. Have confidence in your booking as we do not hard sell and our staff does not receive commissions on any sales. Know that when you book with MWR all of the benefits and savings go directly to the customer! What kind of payments are accepted/payment plan? MWR and our cruise vendors accept all major credit cards and major debit cards for payment. Each cruise line has guidelines for initial deposits and for final payment requirements. Within those timelines, each client may choose to make additional payments. How far in advance do I need to book my cruise? Each cruise line has different pricing and marketing strategies. In general, booking early will assure you the best selection of availability and rates. High demand cruises such as major holidays and vacation periods when children are out of school, require advance planning. If you are flexible with dates and destinations, short-term bookings during off-peak times could bring savings. We can compare many options and it is best to visit our office for a personal consultation. What I.D. and immigration needs are required for a cruise? The best advice is to obtain a current passport for all cruises! There are some exceptions, but details need to be discussed prior to confirming a cruise. Always visit this website: www.travel.state.gov What does my cruise fare include? Accommodations of choice, transportation to beautiful and interesting ports, organized children and adult programs onboard, all meals in the complimentary dining venues, all entertainment onboard, art auctions, poolside activities, access to fitness facilities, sports activities, use of pools and hot tubs, TV in-room and phone calls within the ship confines. What are the main extras that would be additional to the cruise fare? Taxes, service charges/gratuities, meals in specialty venues, alcoholic beverages, sodas, spa and salon services, casino, round-trip transfers from airport to ship, shore excursions, photography, internet access, babysitting services, art and gift shop purchases, video arcades, laundry services for personal clothing and the medical center. What are my options for travel to the ports where the ships depart from? Travel to and from your cruise can involve some added expense and there are many ways to arrange the possibilities. If the port is within driving distance from your area, public parking is available at the piers. Rates can range from $15 to $25 per day, per vehicle. We highly recommend that you consider arriving at your port of departure at least one day prior to departure whether you are driving or flying. Due to delays, (mechanical, weather and accidents) the possibility of missing the ship is at risk and would result in the complete loss of the cruise cost. Arrangements can be made for pre-hotel stays near the pier area through our office. Most cruises start the check-in process at noon and all passengers should be onboard 90 minutes prior to departure at 4 to 5 p.m. Homeland security restricts late checkins. Cruise lines have an option to add air travel to your reservation, but the cost will be at a fully refundable and changeable rate and will be much higher in cost than booking your air separately on a promotional rate. Should I purchase Travel Protection Insurance? It is HIGHLY recommended! Travel insurance can protect you against many things such as unexpected emergency situations, lost baggage, sickness, emergency medical treatment outside of the country and more. Coverage options can vary so it is important to discuss your options and coverage at the time of booking. Before hitting the area’s theme parks or planning your next vacation to Disney World, check with your local MWR Information, Tickets & Tours (ITT) office for discounted tickets. ITT offices offer tickets to parks, museums, movie theaters, concerts and central Florida theme parks to include Walt Disney World, Sea World and Universal Studios. Military discounted rates are available to active duty, retirees, reservists, eligible family members (accompanied with a military ID card) and DoD civilians.
