Investing in the People We Serve
Dieter’s Close Quarters Defense®
Safety for Citizens and Organizations
Citizens and organizations in the public domain have emerged as targeted priorities
for those who wish do harm. Many venues bring large numbers of people together
into confined spaces and invariably lead to high levels of media coverage sought by
perpetrators. It is incumbent upon decision-makers to prioritize the safety of
persons under their care, especially our children.***

Presenter: Angel Naves—Director, Dieter’s Close Quarters Defense® (CQD®) at Sports
Academy, Thousand Oaks—is a former Navy SEAL and SEAL instructor, and has taught
thousands of private citizens and teammates the Dieter’s CQD® skills necessary for
survival and success. Angel was then chosen to train the country’s most elite protective
operations and diplomatic units, for they too depend upon the proven, life-saving skills of
Dieter’s CQD®.
Dieter’s CQD® is a tactical training system, and for over 25 years has been the only tactical
system of defense fully adopted and continuously utilized by the U.S. Navy SEAL Teams.
Based on the Eastern Shore of Maryland, Dieter’s CQD® has provided the highest quality
tactical training services and support products to the nation’s most elite operators since
1989, and has trained private citizens and their families—men, women, and children of all
ages and abilities- and executive/ corporate teams.
Dieter’s CQD® method of instruction creates a positive learning environment where fear,
stress, and uncertainty are replaced with knowledge, understanding, and
confidence
in order to empower faculty, students, and community leaders to succeed in high-risk
environments.

“Putting yourself in unknown
situations really allowed me
to get to know myself better
and have a more thorough
understanding of how I
would really act in an unfortunate event.”
- Shanna G.
Outstanding and eye opening. [Angel’s] passion shows.
[He has] a great ability to
draw us in and be fully
engaged. I’m very impressed
and I know the others were
as well. Thanks so much!
– General Manager
There is no other way to
really know how you are
going to react, but the drill
gives similar feeling and
emotion to those drills being
real deal. Just wish I had this
training years ago.
– Marissa I.
