are marching ahead quickly! If you haven‟t put this

event on your calendar, you will surely want to do so
now! Our major fundraiser is approaching and with a
little “Luck of the Irish” we plan to give away some
green and celebrate St. Patrick‟s Day with “Winning
Highlights
O’ the Green”! Please make an effort to promote,

celebration and a chance to participate in any way you can as this will be an
opportunity for a major revenue source to support our club‟s charitable
endeavors within the community. Call me today if you would like to serve on one
of our planning committees. Plan to join us Thursday, March 17th, 6:30 pm at
Event 1013 in historic downtown Plano for this evening of fun and
entertainment!
Throughout the night a Reverse Raffle will occur where pre-sold tickets will be
drawn, and random prizes awarded, leading up to the „last ticket standing‟ for
the grand prize of a $2,500 AMEX gift card. With only 250 tickets being sold,
there will be a 1 in 7 chance of winning! Raffle tickets pre-sold for $50 each and
you need not be present to win. If you wish to attend the event, dinner tickets
will be sold separately for $15 each. Bring a date, a friend or
colleague! Everyone is invited! Call or text me today to purchase your raffle
ticket and/or dinner tickets. Remember after 250 Raffle tickets are sold, there
will be no more and you will miss out on your opportunity for prizes, but you can
still join in the fun by attending a great evening out with friends and neighbors!
With all of these great activities going on, don‟t forget to mark your calendars
for April 21st. We will travel to the Dallas Arboretum! Hopefully it will be a
beautiful daytime excursion and a great time to take a deep breath and enjoy
nature! More details to follow…

February General Membership Meeting
WOW!!! That‟s my description of our February Style Show/Luncheon/Silent
Auction! What a great day and fun event! Victory Church was our venue
and Trina Freeman along with her great volunteers provided a wonderful
setting and a great lunch! Almost 100 members and guests attended and
enjoyed a lively program with our Style Show as the main event! Michele
Ritchie of Pappagallo’s Boutique at Villages of Fairview hosted a fun and
entertaining fashion display with some FABULOUS talent!
A big thanks to our brave and talented models – Sharon Brucato, Cindy Frost,
Barbara Douglas, Lisa Ricketts, Peggy Threadgill and Sandy Waites. These
ladies really know how to “strut their stuff”! As if that weren‟t enough, our
attendees had an opportunity to bid on items in our Silent Auction. With about
60 items to choose from, many came away with some great acquisitions including
a Wine Tasting for 10, Chef Catered Lunch for 6, beautiful art, jewelry and more!
Thanks to all of our members who pitched in to make the event such a success. I
look forward to a repeat performance next year!

President's Corner
It‟s hard to believe there are only three months left in this Membership Year! The
saying “Time Flies When You‟re Having Fun” certainly seems true here. It has been a
wonderful year, and I am looking forward to the next three months, especially the
March fundraiser meeting! It has finally become a reality! I have no doubt it will
become an annual tradition for us! Fun, Food and Fundraising?! Yes Please!

Treasurer Report
Funds in the PWC treasury total $23,306 as of March 9th. We saw a significantly boost from our
February silent auction and the pre-sale of tickets for our upcoming Reverse Raffle. We have
some upcoming expenditures for the Winning O’ the Green event, but are looking strong
as we approach the awarding of Parker student scholarships, and our annual donation to
the Parker Volunteer Fire Department.

February “Fun”draising
A Silent Auction was held concurrently with the Luncheon/Style Show at our February General Meeting.
This was a „first‟ for the Club. With about 60 items available, the ability to accept credit cards, every item
had a winning bid, all items were paid for before leaving the building, and $2,938 raised – we‟ll call it a
success! Thank you to each and every one who donated items, helped set up, and bid on great items!
Our year is winding down; Winning o’ the Green will be our last and hopefully biggest fundraiser for the
Parker Women‟s Club this year. Join us at the March party for fun, and be sure to get your raffle tickets!
Hope to see you on March 17th, but you do not have to be present to win.
We have not received any new donations since our last report but I want to thank everyone that has
donated these last 7 months.

Outreach
Thank you to all who donated gift cards to the Tornado Relief Victims. The PWC board
voted to donate funds to the cause and a total of $1,415 of gift cards were donated. Once
again, a huge thank you to Letty Valdez for being our source of information and
delivering the gift cards. Parker is a wonderful and generous community.
Please notify me if you or someone you know is ill, having surgery, etc. I want to reach out to all who are in
need. Recent 'Acts of Kindness' include: 2 Cards mailed (surgeries).

Lunch Bunch
An Elegant Lunch at Gleneagles Country Club - We had a great turnout for Lunch
Bunch on March 2, with sixteen ladies enjoying a truly lovely time at Gleneagles
Country Club in west Plano. Pampering included complimentary valet parking, seating
in the elegant main dining room in front of a lighted fireplace and in view of the
beautiful golf course, our choice of menu items or the sumptuous buffet,
complimentary beverages and desserts, and close attention from staff. Gleneagles
even hosted a raffle for our group, with Gayle Romans winning lunch for four people,
and Diane Gilmore winning four Sunday brunch passes. Be sure to make fast friends with them, so they
invite you along! After lunch, a few of us went on a guided walking tour of this stately country club.
Lunch Bunch Moves to Tuesday for April Only - In January, the Assistance League of Greater Collin
County joined Lunch Bunch to share facts about their community efforts toward purchasing school clothes
for children in need, among other worthy projects. These ladies have invited the Parker Women‟s Club to
the annual Assistance League fundraiser--a lunch and fashion show--which takes place on Wednesday,
April 6. Look for more information on this event in the Outreach section. So Lunch Bunch will take place
on TUESDAY in April, freeing lunchtime on Wednesday for those who would like to attend the Assistance
League fundraiser. And if you haven‟t come to Lunch Bunch all year because of a Wednesday conflict, we
hope you can join us in April for the TUESDAY lunch! We‟ll eat at the longtime neighborhood and family
favorite Napoli’s Pizza and Restaurante on Park Street in Plano. We‟ve reserved the private Party Room
for TUESDAY, April 5, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Crafts
A big thank you to Stacy Patrick for showing the craft club how to make beautiful decomesh wreaths in February! They were beautiful and we had a great time making them.
The next craft club will be Monday, March 21st at 10am at
Chris Lucich's house at 6005 Southridge Pkwy. She will be
leading us in making a memory book. 10 pages, cover and
binding, envelopes, tiny bags, ribbon and extra paper will be
furnished for a small $5 fee. We will put together the book - you will make pockets and tags along with small things to
put in the tiny bags and envelopes. When you leave, you will
have a fantastic book in the works!
Please RSVP to [email protected] no later than Friday, March 18th if you are planning to
attend! Looking forward to seeing you!!
