Apprentice* is a quicker and lower-cost educational alternative that allows you to develop marketable
skills without piling on all that debt. In fact, you get to “earn while you learn!”

Halvorson Trane offers a four-year HVAC Apprenticeship Program that is sponsored by the Iowa Chapter
of the Associated Builders and Contractors, Inc. (ABC). The program involves classroom and lab instruction
as well as work experience. Selected apprentices are full-time Halvorson Trane employees. Apprentices
complete 8,000 hours of on-the-job training (OJT) performing HVAC service-related duties during the fouryear period. Depending upon your current educational level and the grades you earn while an apprentice,
Halvorson Trane will reimburse you for 100% of the cost of tuition.

The cost of the classes will be 100%
reimbursed to those meeting a grade point
average of 3.0. Those maintaining a
grade point average of 2.0 will be
reimbursed 50% of the cost of tuition.
Selected candidates will
start off as 1st year apprentices.
Apply for a summer internship with
Halvorson Trane and start earning credits
toward the required 8,000 OJT hours.
After successful completion of
HVAC Program, candidates will need
to apply for apprenticeship program,
but are not required to attend
ABC apprenticeship classes.
