Fortunately, he didn’t just retain the fact that Dr. Einstein did not wear socks, but also shared this gem of a quote, “Life is like riding a bicycle. To keep your balance you must keep moving.” The staff at Lathrem works really hard to provide you with that balance and even that gentle nudge to keep you moving. These pages are filled with new things to learn: broom making, ice cream and sorbet creations, cabbage rolls and the list goes on. There are also places to explore: Edith Mae’s Tea Room, Valley Vineyards, and food-filled adventures on our Tasty Tours. Of course, we shouldn’t leave out the many ways to keep you active: exercise classes, golf leagues, shuffleboard and the cycling group. I encourage you to keep your life balance and keep moving! Pondview Open House Wednesday, May 21 from 8 a.m. to Noon Spring is a great time to experience all of Kettering’s parks. Did you know Pondview Park is an accessible park? We welcome you to come out for a morning of exploring the park in conjunction with some fun activities! You can fish for free and without a license at Pondview, so we encourage you to bring your fishing gear and a chair! Registration is highly suggested! She says the following about her work: “I taught myself to paint by watching TV. In 1981 I was watching Bill Alexander paint the wet-in-wet painting technique. I made my own palette knife and used old paints I had played around with over the years. In 1984 Bob Ross had the show called the “Joy of Painting” which I watched every Saturday. My husband encouraged me to go to the Bob Ross “Joy of Painting” classes, which I did for over 20 years. I became a certified Bob Ross instructor in 1992 and started teaching two weeks after I got my first certificate. Now I am a certified instructor in the Bob Ross method of oil painting. I have taught Landscapes for over 20 years. Florals and wildlife came in early 2000. My dream was to paint but I never thought I would teach classes also. I was just too shy and bashful. Since those days, I have also taught myself to paint with acrylics and watercolors. I was featured on the news with Bucher’s Beat. Jim Bucher from Channel 2 came to my studio and we painted an entire painting together. I also wrote a children’s book which includes six stories.” Lathrem Craft News Use Your Talents – Benefit the Kettering Parks Foundation! A highly accurate method for detecting the accumulation of plaque and blood flow abnormalities in the carotid arteries. 3.Peripheral Artery Disease Screening: Ankle Brachial Index detects the presence of Peripheral Artery Disease (PAD) which occurs when there is build-up of plaque in the arteries of the legs.
