The Farm-in-the-Zoo makes a charming choice for rustic dinners and receptions (especially of the “farm-to-table” variety). Situated along another idyllic marvel—Nature Boardwalk at Lincoln Park Zoo’s prairie pond ecosystem—the farm buildings, including a classic Main Barn, ranchstyle Farmhouse and Dairy Barn, surround the seasonal crops of the Edible Garden. Unlike the rest of the zoo’s animal exhibits, those here are fully interactive. Guests can feed cows, pet goats and see chickens, pigs, rabbits and ponies up-close! LINCOLN PARK ZOO RENTAL VENUES Kovler Lion House & AT&T Endangered Species Carousel Imagine lions roaring during your event! African lion Sahar is the unquestioned monarch of this landmark animal house. But you’ll feel like King of the Feasts within its vaulted grand interior as rare, beautiful big cats roam indoor exhibits on both sides of your gathering. The Kovler Lion House, designed by famed Prairie School architect Dwight Perkins, celebrated its 100th birthday in 2012. While the animal exhibits have been modernized to meet the needs of rare feline species, vintage design flourishes like the Guastavino-tile ceiling and exterior brick-mosaic lions take you back in time to an era of stately grandeur. As a fun option that guests of any age will love, add the AT&T Endangered Species Carousel and its adjacent terrace for your cocktail reception! The carousel, located just to the east of the Kovler Lion House, features 48 artisan-crafted wooden animals and two chariots and can accommodate up to 50 riders.
