Chairwoman’s Message
I am excited as we move forward into 2014! Our Chamber is an integral part of several
communities and I am extremely grateful for all who contributed to making 2013 a tremendously successful year for
us. Our events, luncheons, after hours, lead groups, and ribbon cuttings have been growing with more and more
members joining in our festivities. This is what has made our Chamber such a strong supporter of each other and our
businesses. North County remains strong, thanks to our members. I look forward to continued growth and success
with the upcoming year.
I send out a big thank you to everyone who put together our Nite of Stars Gala at the Detrick Atrium last month.
What a huge success. The room was beautiful, filled with chatter, laughter, fun, music and entertainment for all. We
appreciate everyone who supported this year’s event with your attendance, your sponsorships, and all of the amazing auction items. Special thanks to Howard Nimmons and Kevin McClain for being our delightful auctioneers
during our live auction portion of the evening.
I would also like to thank and congratulate Pat and Lora Click as they were announced as our 2014 Business
Persons of the Year. Pat and Lora have donated so many years of time, energy, money, and support to help our
North County community. This amazing couple is so deserving of this honor. We will be formally recognizing the
Clicks at our upcoming Installation Dinner in April 2014. More details will follow in the coming months.
I hope everyone had a wonderful holiday season with family and friends. I look forward to what lies ahead for
us in 2014! Thank you to all for your continued support.

North County Marketing Strategy Meeting
The Greater North County Chamber of Commerce and North County Incorporated will host a North County Marketing
Strategy—Community Engagement Meeting on Friday, January 31, 2014, from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m., at St. Louis
Community College-Florissant Valley, Emerson Center building.
The goal of this meeting is to allow our members to share their ideas and thoughts regarding marketing for North County. The
focus will be on perception issues concerning housing, crime, and education.
The cost of lunch, which will be included with the meeting, is $12 per person. Advanced registration and payment for lunch is
required by Monday, January 27, 2014.

The Metropolitan St. Louis Sewer District will have two
Board of Trustee openings in March, 2014.
The District publicizes open Trustee positions based on
Charter requirements. Anyone interested in these open
positions should apply to St. Louis Mayor Francis Slay or
St. Louis County Executive Charlie Dooley by February
21, 2014. Each official will appoint a Trustee to serve on
the board based on their jurisdiction.
Trustees serve four-year terms. They must be registered
voters and residents of their jurisdiction for three years
and must continue to live in their jurisdiction during their
term of office.
Nominations may be sent to Mayor Slay at 1200 Market
Street, St. Louis, Missouri 63103 or to County Executive
Dooley at 41 South Central Avenue, Clayton, Missouri
63105.
