Chairwoman’s Message
As we are all anxiously waiting for spring to arrive and to say good bye to old man winter, it’s hard to believe that
my year is up and this is my last Chairwoman’s message.
I would like to thank the office staff, Carolyn, Debbie and Jamie who have been a tremendous help with ensuring I
complete my duties as Chairwoman. All the emails and text reminders have been a God send in keeping up with our
active chamber. I have also been blessed with a very supportive Board of Directors who has worked consistently to
ensure we have had a successful year. Many have chaired and worked so hard to build up our events over this past year.
And what an amazing year we have had. All of our fundraising events have been well attended and extremely successful. A full active year
of golf, bowling, trivia, and Nite of stars, where laughter and friendship was had by all and many relationships built. This has assisted in
helping many members grow their businesses. Our monthly membership luncheons have seen a huge increase in attendance and for that
we thank you. I would also like to thank the wonderful businesses and organizations who have sponsored our monthly Business After Hours
during this past year. This function continues to grow and is always a good time, with delicious food and drinks.
A couple additions to our calendar this year have been our monthly Tuesday Morning Coffee Klatch and our monthly Women In Networking luncheon. These events as well as our two leads groups offer our members such a variety of opportunities to connect with fellow business leaders in our community.
Of course, we have some events coming up in March, so it’s time to mark your calendars. We will be co-hosting the Legislative Reception
on March 6 at Christian Hospital. Join us at DeLeo’s Café and Deli on March 18, from 5 to 7 p.m., for our Business after Hours. On Saturday, March 22, we will be hosting our 26 th Annual Business Showcase and Taste of North County at the Eagan Center from 10a.m. to 2
p.m. Many things have been added this year to truly make this event a family experience.
I want to say thank you to everyone for supporting me as Chairwoman and supporting our Chamber this past year. So many new members,
new activities and events have helped us grow tremendously. I look forward to our future. North County Strong and Shop Chamber First
for years to come!!
Thank you,
Colleen Hannibal
President’s Message
Chamber members,
I want to thank those members who recently attended the North County Marketing Strategy Community Engagement Meeting, cosponsored by the Greater North County Chamber of Commerce and North County Inc.
We very much appreciate you taking the time out of your busy schedule to engage in this process. As promised, we will be sending you a
summary of the ideas and suggestions that were exchanged at the meeting.
We also want to thank Marcia Pfeiffer with St. Louis Community College at Florissant Valley for providing the meeting space.
I also want to remind members who registered for the Legislative Reception that it’s important that they attend the event on March 6 at
Christian Hospital Atrium. We will be presenting the 2014 North County Legislative Agenda, approved by the board of directors of the
Greater North County Chamber of Commerce, Maryland Heights Chamber of Commerce, North County Incorporated, and Northwest
Chamber of Commerce, to our local legislators. Some of the issues addressed this year concern Economic Development, Education,
Healthcare and Transportation. (The 2014 North County Legislative Agenda in detail is available on our website at
www.greaternorthcountychamber.com)
Thanks for your support.
