illiam Joseph Alexander affectionately known as “Skip” was
born September 15, 1961 in New York City, New York, to Crease
Williams and the late William James Alexander.
William received his early childhood education in private schools in
New York City. He attended Printer’s Professional High School.
The family moved to St. Louis, Missouri in 1977. At that time
William enrolled in Normandy High School and graduated from
there in 1980. After graduation, William joined the United States
Air Force from 1980-1984. He served as an Airman. He received an
honorable discharge in 1984.
William was a professional truck driver. He found “freedom and
great passion” in traveling the world roads through his work.
William had an outgoing personality--he never met a stranger. He
would captivate others with his “charming smile and conversation”.
William loved the Lord. He was baptized at the age of 9. William
expressed his love for God and Christianity by embracing
inspirational music. Some of his favorite artists were Kirk Franklin,
Donnie McClurkin and Yolanda Adams. William enjoyed spending
time watching movies and sports. He also loved spending time with
his wonderful mother and family. William was creative in the
kitchen; he enjoyed and loved cooking for others.
William had great passion for children, caring for them came
natural. He felt blessed to share his love with his son and
grandchildren.
William departed this life on Tuesday, September 23, 2014 at the
age of 53. William leaves to cherish his memories his loving mother,
Crease Williams, 1 son Marcus (wife-Aquila); 4 granddaughters,
Zarriyiah-age 7, Allysan-age 5, Amber-age 4, and Zian-age 3.
William enjoyed visiting them in Macon, Georgia.
MISS ME, BUT LET ME GO.
When I come to the end of the road,
And the sun has set for me,
I want no rites in
gloom
gloom--filled rooms,
Why cry for a soul set free?
Miss me a little
little---but
--but
not too long,
And not with your
head bowed low;
Remember the love
that we once shared
Miss me
me---but
--but let me go.
For this is a journey
that we all must take,
And each must go alone.
It’s all a part of the Master’s plan,
A step on the road to home.
When you are lonely
and sick at heart,
Go to the friends we know,
And busy your sorrows
in doing good deeds.
Miss me - but let me go.
He also leaves to cherish his memories a host of special relatives,
aunts, cousins and special friends and girl friend Bonnie Matthews.
“I WILL LIFT UP MY EYES TO THE HILLS,
FROM WHICH COMETH MY HELP,
AND MY HELP COMETH FROM THE LORD”
Psalms 121:1-2
