In Volgograd, in the Mamayev Hill, was a mass
protest against the decision of the Estonian
Parliament to dismantle the monument and
reburial of the remains of Soviet soldiers. The
demonstrators accused the Estonian government
of "insulting the historical memory."

After the events of the Bronze Night, the Russian
businessman Aleksandr Lebedev, one of the candidates for
the Mayor of Sochi, made a proposal to the Estonian
Government to sell him the original sculpture of the Bronze
Soldier. His proposal was ignored.
