Summer Camp 2016 Dates & Themes: Summer Camp at the YMCA of Greater Spartanburg will give your child the opportunity to grow and thrive in a fun and safe environment. We strive to give your child the best experience here at camp through bringing on the best camp staff, swimming, arts & crafts, exciting games, weekly field trips and so much more! You will not want your child to miss out on what great things we have in store for our campers! This, will truly be, the BEST. SUMMER. EVER. Aloha Summer! (June 6-June10) App Attack (July 11– July 15) Aloooohaaa campers! Get ready to kick off Summer in paradise. Don’t forget your Hawaiian shirts, sunglasses and ukuleles! And always remember, “Ohana” means family. Field Trip: Pump It Up (Spartanburg, SC) What could be better than life size Angry Birds? A giant game of Mine Craft? An Instagram photo booth? For this week of camp get ready to live it up, when apps attack! Field Trip: TBD Welcome to the Jungle! (June13-June17) Into the Wild (July 18-July 22) Lions! Tigers! And Bears! Oh My! Get in touch with your inner animal as things get a little wild at Summer Camp. Be on your toes, there’s no telling what wild things could appear! Field Trip: Hollywild Zoo (Greenville, SC) Get ready campers for a fun filled week in the great outdoors! This week of camp will be filled with scavenger hunts, hikes, nature walks and more! Field Trip: Table Rock State Park Out of this World (June 20-June 24) Up! Up! And Away! (July 25-July 29) 3! 2! 1! BLAST OFF! Suit up space explorers there’s an unknown world out there that needs to be discovered. This week of camp will have you out of this world! Field Trip: Roper Mountain Science Center (Greenville, SC) It’s a bird! It’s a plane! It’s Superman! Suit up campers because we have a job to do! The city of Spartanburg needs our help! This week of camp we will be going Up! Up! And away! Field Trip: Gravitopia (Greenville, SC) Arrgh Matey! (June 27-July 1) The Deep Blue (August 1– August 5) Get ready to go on a treasure hunt mates! There’s rumor that there is a secret treasure buried at the YMCA! We need you to help us find it! Don’t forget, X marks the spot! Field Trip: Shipwreck Cove (Duncan, SC) This week of camp, we will explore the deep blue of the sea! Exotic fish, giant whales and more! Who knows...maybe we will find Nemo along the way! Field Trip: Movie Theater: Finding Dori (Spartanburg, SC) Party in the USA! (July 5-July 8) Let the Games Begin! (August 8– August 12) 2016 Summer Camp Rates: Monday-Friday 7:00am-6:00pm Ages: 5 Years-14 Years *$10 Deposit for each week registered & a $35 registration fee per family is due at registration. Deposits and registration fees are non-refundable. YMCA Members: $100/Week Per Child Program Members: $130/Week Per Child There’s no better party than a Party in the USA! This week of camp we will go all out to celebrate the wonderful place we call home and those who serve to protect it! (Summer Camp will not run on Monday, July 4.) Field Trip: No Field Trip (Fees also include camper t-shirt & field trips) Registration fee will be waived until May1st. *Field trips are subject to change. Camp Little Brave: FAQ: Monday-Friday 8:00am-1:30pm Ages: 3 Years-4 Years What should my camper wear to camp? Active type clothing & tennis shoes. What should my camper bring to camp? Sunscreen, morning and afternoon snack, swim suit, towel lunch (optional free lunch is provided). What should my camper NOT bring to camp? Any electronic devices, personal toys from home, or anything of high value. Do you offer sibling discounts? Siblings will receive $10 off each week. Are field trips included? Yes, field trips are included with your weekly fees. When are field trips? The Thomas E. Hannah YMCA field trip days are on Tuesdays, the Middle Tyger YMCA are on Thursdays. What is the camper to staff ratio?1 counselor for every 12 to 15 campers. Do you offer financial assistance? Yes, as a 501(C)3, financial assistance is available, deadline to apply is YMCA Members: $55/Week Per Child Program Members: $85/Week Per Child Your precious little one can come to Summer Camp too! Camp Little Brave is geared specifically just for 3 and 4 years olds! During our half day camp our Little Braves will have fun doing crafts, games, activities with colors, letters, numbers and shapes as well as receiving weekly swim lessons at no additional cost. Register today! 2 The Olympic games may be in Brazil, but why should they have all the fun? The YMCA will have it’s own version of the Olympics by having a mega field where the Thomas E. Hannah YMCA & Middle Tyger YMCA compete in a mega field day! Field Trip: One branch will travel to the other for Mega Field Day *$10 Deposit for each week registered & a $35 registration fee per family is due at registration. May15th. When will parent orientation take place? Thomas E. Hannah YMCA, June 2 @6pm & Middle Tyger YMCA, May 26 @ 6pm. 3
