Good Morning:
As the CEO of Tough Records LLC, I would like to personally take the opportunity to
introduce you to our label’s newest recording artist, Ryan Reid.
Tough Records was founded upon principles of creating a new higher standard of
professionalism in music released by independent artists. The record projects we have
produced over the past eight years have been a direct reflection of that effort. Tough
Records is dedicated to propelling artists to achieve a level of success that may not be
obtainable through their own efforts.
Ryan Reid’s debut record, “Light it Up,” was released on April 3rd, 2012. The recent
launch of his “Light it Up” tour will allow Reid to extensively promote the project. The
entire record, written by Reid, is a culmination of soul, blues, and full-energy rock
designed to bring the influences of music legends of the past and present into one
package. “Light it Up” definitely showcases Ryan Reid’s true to life songwriting with
songs ranging from spiritual warfare to battling addiction to believing in yourself till the
end.
I am extremely excited about the potential success of this project and the multitude of
opportunities available to us through your support.
I truly appreciate your time. We look forward to speaking with you soon.
Sincerely;
Mr. Greg Pearce

RYAN REID
Since ancient times, the shores of Ireland have been filled with dreams powerful enough to change the
world. And from its extraordinary countryside has come a passion for music and a fascination of life that
has impacted music from the days of John Lennon and Bono to the music that is coming out of Stillwater,
Oklahoma today.
For Ryan Reid, an Irish heritage brought with it a passion for music that started sometime around the first
grade. Not far from Stillwater, OK. Ryan regularly found himself sharing the bench of his parents’ antique
upright piano with his Dad. Although his toes hung far from the foot pedals, Ryan says, “I would spend
hours there in the living room of my parents’ house making a lot more noise than I did music.” But his love
for music would grow fast, and his first guitar would find him a little less than a year later. The bright
colored acoustic Sunburst guitar was a gift from his dad, but it would be a decade and a half later before
playing guitar would have a profound impact on his life. In the meantime, his artistic journey would be just
beginning, putting Ryan‘s creative Irish nature to work.
His first band debut came on the keyboard in the garage of his parents’ house in Jr. High, and after a
single jam session, it was obvious “The Black Stallions” were not destined to make it out of the garage.
Soon after, an outrageous passion to sing landed him a spot in both the school and church choir. But it
wouldn’t be the musical diet of his parents’ folk music or choir hymns that he had been raised on that
would be his greatest musical influence.
In the summer of ‘93, at the age of 13, rock bands like Led Zeppelin, Grateful Dead, and Janis Joplin,
streamed out of the stereo speakers in his room and would eventually follow him all over the back roads of
his teenage years. Constantly reaching out for new sounds and attitudes, Ryan soon found the blues and
eventually the music of artists like Ray Charles, Otis Redding, and Son House gave him an undeniable
love for music’s “truth.” By 16, his choir days were officially over! His graduation from high school left him
with a growing confidence and strong desire to develop his own style. Although a college degree in
classical culture from the University of Oklahoma would be another 10 years in the making, the life’s
lessons he would acquire would prove to be more valuable to him than any diploma.
By the time he was 21, Ryan had packed up his bags and his electric guitar determined to showcase his
talent and musical ambition on a tour of New York that would last for the next 3 years. While there, life’s
experiences taught him a lot about destiny, human suffering, and being true to yourself. By the end of his
stay in New York, fate had found him, and Ryan was ready to make a move back home to put his passion
for writing and playing music to work. His new found philosophy on life defined not only his musical style
but his soul as well. Today his music speaks from the heart to the ways in which we think, feel, and live
our lives.
With a dedication to hard work and a strong drive for perfection, a successful music career was soon to
follow. In the fall of 2009, Ryan signed with Tough Records in Stillwater, OK and has his sights set on an
exciting future. His debut album “Light It Up” offers insight into the life of an extremely passionate, intense,
surprising and powerful artist with the tenacity to make all of his life’s dreams a reality. It’s Aerosmith, Otis
Redding, and The Black Crows tossed into a blender and turned on high. Through the power of media,
he’s ready to make an unparalleled connection with people around the world for decades to come. So
Ryan asks, “Are you ready? Let’s light it up!”
