$6.8 Million Dollar Aquatic
Center for new upscale
subdivision in Plainfield, IL
The construction delivery
method was as
General Contractor
Time-line was fast tracked to
construct entire aquatic center
in less than 7 months.
Project Scope
Challenges
This project scope included
a completely new Aquatic
Center for a new upscale
subdivision development in
Plainfield. The new center
offered a 941 bather pool and
large water slide features.
There were numerous
recreational activities such
as bocce courts, a gazebo
with barbecue grills, shade
structures, a sand volleyball
area, sand play and an
interactive spray ground. The
comprehensive plan was to
create a family oasis including
a clubhouse with locker rooms
and amenities. Pool filtration
houses were constructed
along with other required site
related utilities.
The Owner’s schedule called
for the Springbank Family
Aquatic Center to open
on June 15, 2006. With
an undeveloped site, all
utility extensions had to be
constructed. Since the pool
permit was not received
until November 2005, the
construction schedule was
condensed into 7 months.
Intelligent Solutions
Comprehensive scheduling
and coordination of all trades
and intense supervision of the
project enables the project to
be completed in time for the
grand opening in June 2006.
