Welcome to the
world of ETTO
In our chase for inspiring moments we move from our
escapades in South American mountains and back to the
popular parts of Europe, introducing our new concept
Chamonix. Chamonix is based on an original helmet
design, has a smooth finish and stylish details. The Scalpel
version is full shell helmet made for speeding the slopes
all over the world. Clean style and functional details make
Scalpel the new choice for slope skiers with style. Comfort
and low weight have been main focus when developing the
Chamonix concept. The Freeride version is our new
half shell helmet, with stylish details and a modern look on the original helmet design. Freeride is
for the use of all those who enjoy the world of snow,
giving a comfortable and classy ride, encouraging free spirit and
attitude.
The Chamonix concept reestablishes ETTO in the universe of
skihelmet producers. As a Norwegian company we have the
great advantage of having loads of snow, stable every year.
So we know what is needed to make you safe and comfortable
in enjoying your winter adventures around the world – and as
you, we like to do it in a stylish fashion.

ETTO Intro
ETTO is part of the Norwegian HTS-group.
The HTS-group is involved in several business
areas related to safety, R&D, production and
brand building. The HTS-group was established
in 1919 and created the company philosophy
“Scandinavian Safety” in the mid 80s. Read more
on group webpage, www.hts.no. ETTO`s roots are
Swedish and go back to the start of the helmet
history, starting with bicycle helmets in 1980.
ETTO joined the HTS-group in 1995.
ETTO’s main target is to produce ski helmets
that effectively protect skiers and snowboarders.
All our helmets have CE-certification, and meets
the standard demands of protective gear in
Europe, CE EN 1077. To achieve this standard
3 different tests have to be passed: drop test,
retention system test and penetration test.
Optimal fit
Quality and safety are important aspects for us,
so the Norwegian and Chinese R&D departments
are working close together, and the R&D and
quality are controlled from Norway. The factory
also works with different programs to keep
and improve quality, and to maintain stable
employment.
Production methods used by ETTO:
Hard shell: Injection molded ABS outer shell,
glued together with inner liner of EPS. Hard shell
offers very good protection through the characteristics of the ABS-material which is a very solid
and strong material. Hard shells protect very effectively from outside impact.
All our helmets are produced in China, at our own
factory which was built in 2006. The factory is
built after European mind and demands, as we are
a Norwegian company.
In mold: PC shell fused together with EPS liner in
one operation created by pressure, heat and steam.
In mold has the advantage in the light weight
achieved, and protection is fulfilled through the
force spread characteristic offered by the PC/EPS
fusion: in case of an impact the forces are spread
over a larger area of the human skull.
At our factory we have several injection molding
machines, shell cutting robots, engineering
department, sewing department and in-house
printing department. We have our own EPS
molding machines, but production is outsourced to
nearby producer. The factory also has its own test
lab, to test the products safety intensively. The
factory is certified according to the ISO 9001.
As protection helmets for many consumers have
become a fashion product creating consumer
identity and style, ETTO has a strong focus on
design. To get the right helmet designs ETTO
has developed a long term relationship with
the Italian design company Design Group Italy
located in Milan. This relationship started in 1992,
and is getting stronger for every project.

We picked up and developed E-series on Snow from the
skateboard and dirt bike trends. With typical freeride
shape and style, E-series is a hit in the freeride and jibb
