The 2013 Lumene line has grown considerably, with new canvas options and projection
screens offered in additional formats and finishes. For example, the 2.35:1 format makes
its debut, while several models are now available in 16:10 and 1:1. Our trans-acoustic canvas
options are also available in a wider range of screens. These new products will do an even
better job at meeting the needs of both private and professional users. Screen sizes now
reach 6 base meters, not to mention the option of having a screen made according to your
exact specifications. Finally, two dedicated home theatre armchairs make their debut in
this 2013 catalogue.
The true flagship of Lumene is the Premium line, which features tremendously simply
installation and an exclusive mounting system. The electric Premium models use silence
Somfy motors and the standard includes the most complete interface on the market, with
a remote infrared receiver, trigger, and automation connector. Our canvas options are of
the highest quality: the Lumene woven acoustic canvas is indeed the best on the market,

4:3 TELEVISION Format
The 4:3 format is the TV standard for all programs
except cinema. It is also used in 35 mm photography.

16:9 TELEVISION Format
The 16:9 format is designed for watching films on a
television set. It’s the perfect screen for movie lovers. Its
Ratio, 1.77:1 is very close to the 1.85:1 and will allow for
slight (and almost imperceptible) anamorphic distortion.
The choice of 16:9 is also due to the fact that it is a
multiple of 4:3 (4:3 x 4:3 = 16:9).

PANAVISION Format
Panavision format, also known as Academy Scope,
also uses anamorphic distortion for the projection.
This is the most commonly used standard today. It
corresponds to the “cinema format” term on DVDs.

WIDE Format
New arrival in this 2013 line, the 16:10 format, common
among professionals, is ideal for video projection of
technical presentations.

SQUARE Format
Brand new in the 2013 catalogue, the 1:1 format meets
specific needs as well as the projection of film reels.

CHOICE OF GAIN
The gain represents the degree of reflection of the canvas,
meaning how it more or less restores the light it absorbs.
A canvas that restores the light it absorbs normally offers
a gain of 1 and diffuses light according to a wide angle, so
that spectators off-center are able to get an image that is
as well-illuminated as viewers located at the center of the
room. A canvas with a higher gain level (>1) will offer higher
reflection on a narrower angle, suitable, for example, for a
3D projection.
INVERTED ROLLING
CANVASS
Are you interested in installing a screen in the middle of
your living room, set into a beam for example, and keeping
the case out of sight? White mat screens, with an inverting
rolling canvas, represent the ideal solution for that kind of
installation, perfectly integrated into the decor, hiding any
sign of the projection screen. Set up against a bracket or
a beam, these screens unroll a canvas that you can then
orient accordingly.
CANVAS OPTIONS
FRONTAL PROJECTION: White matt canvas
Two frontal projection canvas options are used in our
products, the PVC fabric for square or stretched screens
and fiberglass canvass specifically made for Lumene for
other types of canvass. They guarantee perfect colorimetric
fidelity, a large angle and a 1.0 gain.
REAR PROJECTION: Translucent Canvas
The translucent Lumene canvas is ideal for retro projection,
meaning image diffusion by a video projector placed behind
the screen. The screen filters the light and the image forms in
front of the viewer with heightened contrast and luminosity.
SOUND PROJECTION: Woven Canvas
The acoustics Lumene woven canvas is ideal for installing
a powerful audio system behind the projection screen. The
woven structure enable excellent sound message projection
to listeners, without distortion of the sound signal. This is
probably the best trans-acoustic canvas on the market.
3D PROJECTION: 3D gray canvas
The gray elevated 2.0 gain Lumene canvas is particularly wellsuited to 3D video projection, due to the excellent contrast
and perfectly utilized luminosity. The colors are richer and
more vibrant. This canvas comes with the brand new Movie
Palace Premium 3D Screen.

Most of Lumene’s screens come in different formats and sizes to suit the needs of every user. From the
130 cm base screen adapted to projection in a small living room to the 6 meter screen which is perfect
for specific professional uses, the line covers satisfies every need. Our 2013 line also introduces new
medium sizes.

A manual screen that is affordable and boasts a refined finish.
The second generation of Plazza screens features a finish
that is unequalled at this price point: high performance canvas
with black borders, a black-out back, extra-drop, slim case in
lacquered aluminum with an elegant design so it will fit well into
tight spaces, with a simple wall or ceiling attachment system so
the screen can recede into its case. Of course, it also features
a sturdy spring suitable for long term use. It also offers an
automatic locking system that lets you make easy and practical
adjustment of the screen to match the dimensions needed for
the video or image projection.

The best manual screen you’ll find today. The Capitol Premium
gives you the best available manual screen: treated canvass for
a perfect image, black borders, extra-drop for better contrast,
a black-out back so you can set it in front of a window. To roll
it back up, you simply have to release it and the canvas raises
completely and gently thanks to advanced SSR technology. The
quick and safe adherence system allows the user to mount it
to the wall or ceiling or to hang it. The installation system allows
great flexibility in setting in the support points: this is a serious
advantage when installing a screen in rooms of challenging
dimensions.

The entry point in the Lumene motorized screen line, the
Embassy 2 comes at a very friendly price and yet it is also a
very complete motorized screen option. It offers remarkable
performance and features not normally found in screens at this
price point.
Step up in the line to a very complete motorized screen. The
second generation of Embassy motorized screens provides you
with features not normally found at this price point: integrated
infrared remote control, remote control sensor included to allow
you to install the screen in a case, a lacquered aluminum case,
black-out back so you can place it in front of a window, black
borders and an extra-drop for better contrast, and canvas
treated for perfect color fidelity.
This screen is ready to plug in, and it is easy to install it on the
ceiling or on the wall.

The Lumene Louxor is a simple and sturdy electric screen
perfect for installations in business and community settings.
It’s high-end canvas rolls into an aluminum cartridge and
offers perfect color fidelity and a wide field of vision. Its blackout back lets you place it in front of a window. Black borders
improve contrast. With its quick and adjustable adherence
system, the unit can be mounted on the wall, on the ceiling,
or it can be suspended. Users have many options for support
point placement. This is an important advantage when it’s time
to move the cartridge. The Lumene Louxor is compatible with
wall-stretch brackets and it features a motor controlled by a
wired external case.

If the screen is hidden behind a piece of furniture or a case, the
integrated remote control will function through an external sensor
that comes standard. A carrier handle allows for easy transport
and Eden can be set up in just a few minutes. It features the
same high performance canvas as the other Lumene screens:
with black borders and an extra-drop for better contrast, the
canvas is treated for perfect color fidelity.

REPLACEMENT CANVAS
We offer a very wide selection of replacement canvas options
that fit fixed screens of the Movie Palace line and the Onstage
series. They are a perfect fit for the original screen purchased,
so they will offer performance that is absolutely exact in
every way. No matter the size of your screen, you will be able
to replace a damaged canvas or evolve toward a new canvas
technology to correspond to the progression of your audio and
video equipment. For example, use a high gain canvas adapted
to a brand new 3D video projector. Or maybe you’ll want to
switch from a black-out canvas to a trans-acoustic canvas.
Lumene also offers replacement canvas options for pliable
screens, which due to their intended function are exposed to
tough conditions of use.

For optimal integration of your videoprojection screen in living
rooms where the walls feature a particularly heavy amount of
decor elements, Lumene has developed 20 and 40 cm wall
mounting brackets for our screens. Specifically designed for our
line of screens, these bracket are easy to set up and will stay
perfectly secure.
Introducing the Lumene ceiling video projector support.
Placement is easy, and you can hide the cables for maximum
discretion. Also, you can position it or incline it according to
several possible axes. Once it is installed, the easy settings make
this a successful and functional support system. Articulated,
telescopic arms fit all models of projectors. A Kensington® antitheft device plug will assure your projector’s security..

Majority of Lumene’s motorized screens, except come with an
infrared signal remote control to operate the raise/lower motor.
In some cases, the IR technology may not be suitable because of
technical limitations. Range is limited to 10 meters and infrared
signals can not pass through walls. For this reason, a screen set
within a case requires another operational device. That’s why
you’ll love our radio-frequency operations set which is not limited
by distance or by the case you use. This set includes a receiver
connected to the screen’s motor as well as the RF remote
control, and it’s easy to set up.
This case was designed for the integration of our videoprojection
screens within a home automation system. The set connects
to both your home automation network and to your projection
screen so you can operate your screen’s motor with the control
device used by your home automation system (like a touch
tablet, for example). This set also features control buttons to
operate Lumene screen motors.

WIRELESS TRIGGER
The Lumene manual raise/lower switch is designed for motorized
video projection screens. This is an alternative to the remote
control that comes automatically with our screens, except
Louxor. The switch can easily hook up to the screen motor and it
features three control buttons. Two are devoted to raising and
lowering, while the third stops the operation underway.
For use with motorized screens, this accessory will let you activate
opening and closing of your screen when you turn on or off your
video projector, or home cinema amplifier, for easy daily use. This
wireless trigger is very easy to use, and installation is easy too,
with no need to hide the cables between the video projector and
the projection screen. This is a significant advantage to get the
very most out of home theater installations. This wireless trigger
is compatible with Showplace, Majestic Premium, Coliseum
Premium, Embassy 2 and Eden screens.
