Slipways In The Broads Please use this guide to help you plan ahead and use slipways and other launch sites safely The Broads - Britain’s magical waterland Welcome to a very special place for boating. The Broads is a member of the national park family and has over 125 miles (200km) of waterways for you to explore. The rivers Bure, Ant, Thurne, Yare, Chet and Waveney flow through the Broads, many of the broads (or shallow lakes) are navigable, and the River Wensum reaches right into the city of Norwich. The Broads is ideal for all kinds of boating - sailing, motor boating, rowing, canoeing and windsurfing, and for electric boaters there’s a network of charging points throughout the area. It’s also a good place to learn and there are lots of places giving instruction, including some with facilities for disabled people. There are also many sailing clubs. With beautiful countryside and rare wildlife like otters and bitterns, the Broads offers a truly magical boating experience.
