Our Activities REACH OUT NKOKONJERU PARISH HEALTH / CHILDREN The Organisation provides a holistic approach to prevention, treatment and care services of HIV. RONHAI cares for people infected and those affected by HIV. The primary target groups are the women and children living with HIV. However, RONAHI promote free access to health care for all people in the Buikwe district who belong to the less privileged and destitute social groups. In addition RONHAI supports vulnerable children, boys and girls alike, to get access to education. We financially support children to complete a full course of primary schooling or even beyond. However, in parallel much effort is put into the improvement of the economic situation of the families in order to enable them to care for their children’s education autonomously. In addition RONHAI supports children with disabilities. We offer financial funding of treatment which sustainably improves the physical or mental condition of the child. Applicants should come to RONHAI office to apply for funding. RONHAI stuff helps to fill in the application form and ensures submission to our partner organisation for further administration and final approval. OUR VISION A community that is self-sustainable and free of sicknesses, where those who are most vulnerable and poor are supported to attain self-sustainability and the sick are provided with quality health services. HISTORY RONHAI was founded in 2008 as a CBO and is registered as NGO since 2011. In 2014 RONHAI merged with Onward Uganda ltd, another organisation based in Nkokonjeru whose main focus is to support poor farmers by providing land, seeds and agricultural trainings. Since December 2014 the activities are combined and are executed under the name of RONHAI. Our Activities Our Activities FARMING FINANCE RONHAI supports poverty stricken families and communities using agricultural technologies to realize food secure healthy families with steady income. RONHAI gives land/small plots to poor farmers to grow their seasonal crops. The organisation grants access to planting materials, distributes seeds and organic fertilizers to improve the yield of the crops. In order to improve skills of farmers trainings and workshops are organized. In addition RONHAI establishes and strengthens farmer groups to enable them to do joint marketing of their agricultural production for better incomes. Several agricultural projects are initiated to introduce new possibilities of cultivation. The agricultural activities are currently focused on the improvement of Sweet potato cultivation by promoting Orange Fleshed Sweet Potato growing. Moreover it is the aim of the organization to increase banana production in the district of Buikwe. Since 2013 RONHAI drives the initiative to bring Micro-financing opportunity to the farmers. The aim is to empower especially women to participate in loan schemes in order to support them improving their businesses. However, the participation is open for everyone as RONHAI supports all people irrespective of gender, social status, religious or political affiliation. RONHAI is partnering with WEKEMBE Microfinance scheme. In general loans are granted to a group of people from the same area and who share the same working background. RONHAI is the first contact for all applicants. Application forms can be obtained from the RONHAI office. RONHAI will help all interested people to get first information and acts as the interface to connect the applicants to the different loan groups. RONHAI also supports the initiative to form new groups and get in contact with WEKEMBE to provide training for new members.
