HOTCHKISS K-­‐8 This year we will be adding a few new features like buying a raffle ticket for a chance in the “MONEY MACHINE”. You can play the “MARIMBA”, and a few new booths like “Float Your Boat” and last year’s favorites are returning! RAIN OR SHINE, INDOOR OR OUTDOOR IT WILL BE A GREAT EVENING OF FUN! FRIDAY, APRIL 17th 5:00-­‐8:00 P.M. CARSON COLLINS, 1ST PLACE FOR THE AMERICANISM AND PATRIORTISM CONTEST! HK8 6TH Grade Spellers: Traycer Hall, Adam Smith, Christian Matus, Tawny Roberts and Lauryn Kiefer! Tawny finished in 7th Place and Lauryn w as 5th Place! Good Luck to our 4 th & 5th Grade Spellers as they represent HK8 at the Delta County Spelling Bee today, April 15th! Bryon Becker, Sawyer Handy, Bailey Miller, Lottie Hollembeak, Claudia Verdeja and Tia Moore. RIDE THE ROCKIES will be at HK8 June 15, 2015! HK8 families if you can provide an extra bed or an extra spot in June, the riders will be looking for a soft bed/comfortable spot to stay for the night. For every paid rider HK8 will receive $25.00 and the Hotchkiss Chamber will receive $5.00. PLEASE DOWNLOAD THE FORM FROM OUR WEBSITE hk8.deltaschoools.com if you have extra room for guests. The proceeds from this event will support technology for students, and the development of our “Bulldog Community Park” project we are creating on our school grounds. Our “Bulldog Community Park” will have community gardens, pathways and benches installed. We would also like to develop a concrete sidewalk on Lorah Lane so our students and community members have a safe place to walk when coming to and leaving the school. GIRLS ON THE RUN -­‐ 5K Saturday, May 2, 2015 @ 10:00 a.m., Long’s Park -­‐ 3118 E ½ Road, Grand Junction. This race is open to everyone, so come on and support our GOTR Bulldogs and get a little Saturday exercise! Just a reminder, that any K8 student that receives a discipline referral for the remainder of the year will lose the privileges of participating in the last day of school events. Students in grades 6th, 7th and 8th must also have an 80% or better DOJO to attend the yearend activities. We have awesome trips and activities planned for May 22nd! Continue to make good choices HK8 Students; it will be a fantastic end to the year! Workers at our Bulldog Community Park Project! Saturday, April 11th was a fun and productive day! Volunteers still needed. It is beautiful, stop by and see the work that has already happened and vision the next steps! •
