It is so good to see the Lord’s hand at work in our Association. Besides all the work He led the Jesus Film Committees to do, He brought over
700 people to distribute the films. It has always been a “God thing” and He is always faithful.
Please pray for Diane Sorrell and me as we travel to Brentwood for the WMU Executive Board meeting on Nov. 2-3. Our Lord’s business is
always important.
As of Oct. 10 the Missionary House fund was $211,333.51. The goal is $300,000.00.
Nov. 5th is the Baptist Women World Day of Prayer. The meeting will be held at Brighton First at 9:30 a.m. Missions is a world wide work and
it’s good to learn about them and to pray with women around the world. Bobbie Wylie will lead this time of prayer.
The World Craft Party at Covington First was so blessed by the Lord. There were at least 100 reservations for lunch and the food was delicious. Most of the items ordered were sold and the money raised for women around the world was almost $3.000.00. I spent all I could and
then, after hearing Ann Davenport and Carolyn Outland tell us and show slides of the heartbreak in Thailand, I spent that much more! Young
girls are sold every day in Thailand because their families need money to feed the other children. My money and yours helped protect young
people from prostitution and slavery.
I hope to see you Nov. 12-14 at Faith Baptist, Bartlett for our State Convention. Take time to visit with the missionaries at the WMU Mission
Extravaganza. Our Lord’s hand is at work around the world—He is Faithful.
A small note about the meeting of the 700 to distribute the Jesus film: they drank 18 pots of coffee! We seem to run on the Lord’s power
and coffee!
Glad to be on this journey with you. . . .
Gail
