YOU BELONG HERE! Open 9:00 am
to 4:00 pm, Monday through Friday, with pre and
post-camp extension options, J-Camp offers premium
summer programs from preschool through high school
and overnight camp excursions for grades 3-10. Located
on the Longmeadow/Springfield line, J-Camp is easily
accessible for CT and MA residents. J-Camp is located
on 20 acres of beautiful grounds with outdoor basketball
and tennis courts, playgrounds, athletic fields, woods,
high and low challenge ropes course, zip line, picnic
grove, pavilion and more. An additional air conditioned
indoor facility boasts rock climbing, auditorium and
stage, arts and crafts studio, basketball gym, racquetball
courts, indoor pool, and more. With the encouragement
and guidance of highly-skilled staff, campers participate
in programs and activities designed to foster learning,
growth, creativity, teamwork and above all, fun. Instruction
from our arts and crafts, music, nature, outdoor
adventure, and sports specialists will help discover
hidden talents. Your child will make new friends and
develop new skills. For more information, contact Louis
Lasko, Camp Director, at (413) 739-4715 ext. 322 or at
[email protected].
NEW THIS YEAR: BANKSHOT
BASKETBALL COURT. This new addition
to our facility offers 13 challenges, combining the skill of
basketball with the format and precision of miniature golf.
JEWISH EMPHASIS Campers experience
a variety of activities with a rich Judaic tradition. These
include Israeli culture, music, crafts and games. Jewish
values are also infused into daily activities at camp. Each
Friday, campers will participate in a weekly Shabbat
celebration that is comfortable for all faiths. All are
welcome in our J-Camp family, which hosts a variety of
cultures.
SENSE OF BELONGING J-Camp is
open and accessible to everyone regardless of age, race,
religion, national origin or ability. Kehillah is our inclusion
program that offers children with special needs and
learning differences the opportunity to fully enjoy the
J-Camp experience. We believe that ALL campers can
participate, ALL campers can succeed AND ALL campers
can make a new friend. These are Jewish and universal
values that we live at camp. Kehillah campers are
supported by Inclusion Counselors who act as facilitators
of self advocacy, social interactions and activity
modification as needed. Our emphasis is that every
camper comes to camp for the same reason, to have fun
and make friends. An intake and interview are required
prior to registration for all new inclusion campers. Please
contact Bethany Young, Kehillah Director, at 413-7394715 x 325 or [email protected].

care is available by registration (with calendar form in
the Parent/Guardian Manual). Qualified camp staff will
provide games and activities. Additional snack provided

FUNDS J-Camp is appreciative of those who have
helped support J-Camp through the establishment of
funds to provide scholarship assistance to those in need
including:
HOST AN ISRAELI COUNSELOR,
A SHALIACH J-Camp is lucky to welcome two ◾ The Morris Dane Campership Fund, established by
Shlichim, Israeli camp staff, to enhance the J-Camp
program. Treat your family to a rare and delightful
experience! Invite a shaliach to live with you and your
family for part of the summer. This counselor will teach
our campers the history and culture of Israel through
the Dane Family to honor the memory of their father,
husband and past president of the JCC.
◾ The Norman Cooper Fund provides camperships in
addition to other support of the JCC. Norman was
a social worker at the JCC who is remembered for
his special commitment to our Community and was
especially loved by the children at Y Day Camp.
◾ The Kenneth Gotlib Campership Fund was
established by his parents to honor and remember
what was important to him. Kenneth, a graduate of
the JCC Preschool and Heritage Academy and an
active JCC Camper and swim team participant, went
on to become active in the Big Brother program.
Kenneth loved kids and it was important to him that
the camp experience was accessible to all regardless
of one’s financial circumstances.
◾ The Szafran family created the Jordan Szafran
Scholarship Fund to honor the memory of their son
Jordan who was an avid sports camper and Cudas
swim team member. This fund provides scholarships
for sports camp and swim team participants.
◾ The David and Ruth Bennett Camp Scholarship
Fund was established because the family wanted to
make it possible for all who wish to enjoy a Jewish
JCC summer camp experience.
JCC SWIM INSTRUCTION The
talented JCC swim staff will teach and motivate campers,
from non-swimmers to advanced swimmers, including
swim team participants. Erika Friedman (JCC Aquatics
Director) and the JCC Waterfront staff meet individual
needs far exceeding parent expectations! All campers will
have American Red Cross swim lessons taught to them
ranging from Levels 1-6. Campers will receive a swim
progression card every 2 weeks. Campers are encouraged
to swim every day to get the most out of their lessons.
Please note: Swim lessons may not be taught when
camp-wide activities are planned, during inclement
weather, or if the pool is closed for safety/maintenance.
J-Camp does not offer make-up lessons.
