President’s Letter
Greetings Everyone,
Spring is here and it’s lovely. I think the flowering trees and shrubs are exceptionally
beautiful this year so there is a lot of inspiration out there. Let’s paint!
Our April Sandy Scales Seminar was very successful. Sandy is an excellent teacher and was
very patient and thorough. We painted two beautiful Maureen McNaughton designs and a
good time was had by all.
Our regular April meeting found us all painting The Mighty “Quin” with fellow member
Lorraine Thomas. What a cute little guy! Thank you so much Lorraine.
In March we had a great turnout for the Luncheon favor painting. Once again Karen did a
great job and surprised us all with some fun door prizes to help celebrate our 30th year as a
member of National. Now let’s get the centerpieces finished, the baskets put together and
please paint some lovely pieces for the Luncheon auction. We need to give Karen all of our
support to help make this event another big success.
Looking forward to Rocky’s Tea Kettle this month and to Nancy Pitcher’s project in June.
Hope you signed up for both.
This year we are awarding our first ever scholarship of $500.00 to Stroudsburg High School
graduating senior Samantha Howarth of Saylorsburg. Samantha has been accepted at the
Savannah Collage of Art and Design in Savannah, GA where she will major in Production
Design with a concentration in costume. The guidance department at Stroudsburg will
surprise her about the scholarship on Moving Up Day in June at a special assembly for the
graduating seniors.
Hope to see you all at the Meeting,
Nadine Lawless
