business successful. It is their talent, dedication and passion
for hospitality that has provided Chartwells with the opportunity and honor of serving 280 campus communities
across the United States.

Dining Services
The Be-A-Star award program is one of the many ways
we recognize our associates and teams for the countless
contributions they make every day to better serve our
guests, our campus partners and each other.
In Star 1, our regional judging committees have nominated
outstanding achievers from both front and back of house
associates for the fall 2015 school semester. For our team
effort award, we are recognizing accounts that have been accident-free, exceeding
our safety program initiatives and ensuring a safe and healthy workplace for all.
This year, we have also added a NEW category that specifically recognizes
outstanding students employed by Chartwells. We are incredibly proud of our
role in preparing today’s students for tomorrow’s workforce and are pleased to
share their achievements with you.
Finally, I am proud to share an announcement by Andy Lackmann, CEO of
Lackmann Culinary Services, honoring the recipients of the 2016 Thomas F.
Lackmann Excellence Award.
We’re recognizing accounts
Congratulations to all of our winners! You not only serve as role models for all
of us, but as brand ambassadors nationwide.

Lackmann Culinary Services / Awards
2016 Thomas F. Lackmann
Excellence Award Recipients
T
his award is dedicated to the memory of my father and Lackmann
Culinary Services’ founder, Thomas F. Lackmann, and founded upon
our company’s values of Quality, Integrity, Trust and Teamwork.
The Award recognizes team members who exemplify the founding values
in their work style and have consistently demonstrated them throughout
their careers. I am proud to announce on behalf of Lackmann Culinary
Services, that Stephanie Farino and Bari Marchfeld are this year’s recipients of the Thomas F. Lackmann Excellence Award. Stephanie and Bari
started with Lackmann and have been promoted to larger roles within
Chartwells Higher Education Dining Services. I am truly proud that they
will use their experience and build upon their capabilities in support of
Chartwells in their new positions.
The honorees received a pineapple-shaped crystal award which is an international symbol of hospitality. Our family chose this symbol because
our dad was the definition of hospitality. He was very humble yet had a
resilient drive to continuously challenge himself regardless of any project.
He showed that he cared about everyone in the company and treated
every person he met like family. He wanted to instill these virtues and
values in his staff while also encouraging the importance of continuous
learning for success.
Bari Marchfeld &
Stephanie Farino
Recipients of the Thomas F. Lackmann
Excellence Award
Stephanie and Bari join the distinguished list of past honorees including Shelley Canonico, Jose Rodriguez, Patti Graham, Edna Castillo, Kelly
Heefner and Jennifer Moschitta. Our winners’ accomplishments truly exemplify everything that my father represented. Each Thomas F. Lackmann
Excellence Award recipient has not only made Lackmann Culinary Services a better company overall, but they have made me a better leader
and better person as well. Congratulations, Stephanie and Bari, on this
well-deserved award.
