With an important component revolving around workplace positivity, over 1,300 associates and managers were surveyed to see which factors contributed to this component as well as the general impact the YouFirst program has made thus far. Chartwells, in conjunction with Dr. Beth Cabrera, a researcher and consultant with Cabrera Insights, developed the “Workplace Positivity Inventory” survey. The survey results revealed: n Chartwells associates are not only engaged in YouFirst, but feel the strategy is aligned with their values. n Simply Rally pre-service meetings were valuable to associates. n YouFirst has made a positive difference in service in their foodservice location in general. n Chartwells associates feel the work they do is meaningful and view Chartwells as a socially responsible organization. n Associates feel they receive support and respect from management. n Chartwells associates like the people they work with. Additional supporting results (gathered from Chartwells’ twice annual Customer Loyalty Surveys) measured guest service ratings before and after the YouFirst launch. Guest service ratings increased by an average of 4-5 points from Spring 2010 to Spring 2011.
