The Collingsworth Family blessed our hearts!!! The Lord Jesus Christ was honored, glorified,
and exalted throughout the evening. Praise be to our Lord for His Presence in the music and His
people for their prayerful support and attendance.
Invite all of your family, neighbors, and friends to the...
Annual “Night of Christmas Music”

Morningside’s Chancel Choir and Orchestra
Youth Choir and Preschool Choir

This will be a blessed evening honoring the birth and life of our Lord. Christmas can be the biggest open door of the
year to reach out to unchurched and unsaved loved ones. Take advantage of this wonderful opportunity.
Please be attentive each week during the remainder of December as Christmas activities and programs dictate the
need for schedule adjustments. Sunday School class Christmas fellowships are now taking place each week. Don’t
forget to invite every class member and every prospect to your fellowship.
With praises in my heart, I look forward to seeing you in Sunday School.

WOW!
The Collingsworth Family Christmas Concert blessed my heart! Every time I hear that family I
am amazed by their musical talent and the touch of God on their ministry. What a way to
“kick-off” the Christmas season. I pray that the music blessed you half as much as it did me.
Here’s something to take with you from the concert. Whenever you see baby Jesus in a nativity
scene this Christmas season think about these words:
John Yates
Who is He in yonder stall, At whose feet the shepherds fall?
Who is He who softly cries, Who created earth and skies?
It’s the Lord! Oh wondrous story!
It’s the Lord! The king of glory!
At His feet we humbly fall,
Crown Him! Crown Him Lord of all!
Almighty God, who created the earth and all there is, came to be born in a lowly stable. Why would the Lord of
heaven and earth do such a thing? For one reason: so He could die on the cross to pay the price for your sins. Like I
said before – WOW!
Schedule Change – There will be NO 4:30 p.m. Activities this Sunday (December 14).
Basic Training class will begin January 18 at 4:30 p.m. Basic Training is our potential Sunday School teacher and
leader training course. If you have an interest in teaching Sunday School or serving as a class coordinator, this course
is for you. Basic Training will meet each Sunday at 4:30 p.m. for about 8 weeks. A good deal of reading and other
homework assignments are required. If you have questions or an interest in taking Basic Training please speak to me.
Please pray for our college students. They are taking exams this week, after which some will be heading home until
January. Pray that they recall the things they have learned. Pray for safe travel and good visits with family. The
College & Career Christmas Party is next Friday, December 19, at the Robertson home.
How does your life smell? Come to Sunday School this Sunday morning at 8:45 a.m. to learn about a fragrant
Christian life. I hope to see you there!

Prayer - Outreach - Ministry - Fellowship
Dear Church Family,
We can make our plans but God directs our steps. He allows various trials, tests, and even storms in our lives,
such as our recent accident. We thank Him! It could have been worse.
From the bottom of our hearts, we want to thank each of you for the cards, visits, phone calls, food and most of
all for your prayers. We praise and thank God that we are a part of such a ministering church. What we think is a
church desiring to be a healthy church.
We pray that God will use us to encourage and minister to you in your trials as you have
encouraged and ministered to us in ours.
Love to all of you.

FROM THE CRADLE TO THE CROSS

And there were in the same country shepherds abiding in the field, keeping
watch over their flock by night. 9And, lo, the angel of the Lord came upon
them, and the glory of the Lord shone round about them: and they were sore
afraid. 10And the angel said unto them, Fear not: for, behold, I bring you
good tidings of great joy, which shall be to all people. 11For unto you is born
this day in the city of David a Saviour, which is Christ the Lord. 12And this
shall be a sign unto you; Ye shall find the babe wrapped in swaddling
clothes, lying in a manger. 13And suddenly there was with the angel a
multitude of the heavenly host praising God, and saying, 14Glory to God in
the highest, and on earth peace, good will toward men. Luke 2: 8-14

Sunday night with the Collingsworth Family was absolutely divine. Phil and Kim Collingsworth strive for excellence
in all they do for the Lord. That is always very evident in their musical presentation.
There was a lot of work that went into making Sunday night be the best it could be. There were a group of folks that
helped with the moving of the piano and all their equipment. There were also many that helped with providing extra
chairs for the concert. Many helped greet members and guests and also provided direction in the parking lot. All of
these folks are needed to help make a wonderful night like we had with the Collingsworths. THANK YOU!! You are
the best!
On Sunday night our own Chancel Choir, Total Praise, Youth Choir, Youth Ensemble and orchestra will be presenting
a “Night of Christmas Music.” As I picked songs for this presentation, there seemed to be a theme that began to
surface. Of course we will sing about the birth of our Savior, Jesus Christ. Several songs will also remind us of His
death on the cross for the sins of man. It promises to be a night of praise and worship and thanksgiving.
