IC AT ION S I willPU beBL taking a much needed rest after Christmas and visit my family, relatives and friends for a few weeks and Liguori, MO 63057 then will join Bishop Michael Barber and about 75 priests and lay delegates to the InternacionaI Eucharistic Congress in Cebu, Philippines. Please pray for all our delegates for this IEC congress. Also, please welcome Fr. Patrick who will stay here in the Parish while I am away. I pray you enjoy the holy season and trust, believe and be Merry! Peace! Fr. El Salmo responsorial dice mucho si realmente creemos y respondemos: "Señor, haznos diriginos a vosotros; vamos a ver tu rostro y seremos salvos.” ¿Cuándo vamos a escuchar? ¿Cuándo vamos a creer? ¡Paz! Have you sort of noticed that someone needed help, but you were too busy and kept going? Sometimes something can happen and it appears to be a coincidence, but is it? These are the times that the Holy Spirit is asking us to make a difference in this world and we all should listen more often! Here is one time where this has happened to me and once to my husband. Keep an eye out on the bulletin, I will have more stories of being in the right place at time right time due to the inspiration of the Holy Spirit……… I was working part time and was off work at 1:00 pm when all of a sudden I had a feeling that I should go for a drive, explore a new area, and have lunch since we were new to the bay area. I stopped by, bought lunch and headed over to Crystal Springs Reservoir to enjoy the view. I was driving our first new vehicle at the time and as I was approaching the toll plaza when someone cut me off, threw rocks up at our truck, and cracked the windshield as well as dented the hood. I didn’t have a cell phone at the time and wanted to call my husband to give him the bad news and call the insurance company. I didn’t know the peninsula well, and took off an exit and was lucky to find a pay phone. After making my calls, I went to the reservoir. When I got there, I started to have lunch when a man tapped on the window and asked me to take him to a pay phone. His motorcycle had broken down hours ago, it was starting to rain, and I could tell he was frightened. He said he had been praying for someone to help him and I was the answer to his prayers! I had never heard that before, but thanks to the good Lord, I have heard it many times since. I had never given a ride to a stranger before or after, I asked him to get into the truck bed for my safety and he said ok. I would have never done it, had I not known where to find a payphone; funny how that worked out. My husband was to meet with a fellow employee on Monday before she left the company, but she couldn’t make it. So instead of working from home on Tuesday as he had planned, he went into the office. He takes Amtrak to work. When he arrived at the train station on B Street after work, he found two men with camera equipment who were being harassed by four men on bikes who were trying to steal their equipment. These two men were filming a segment for Showtime. This was also the day before the camera crew was shot and killed back east. They had left their van at a coffee shop which was a few blocks away. The two men were very frightened and asked if my husband could give them a ride to their van, which my husband did. They were quite thankful to be out of that situation. Had the employee who was leaving met with my husband on Monday, my husband would have worked from home that day and would not have been there to help those two guys. All glory and honor is yours Lord! As you can see, we all had a really good time during the event.
