A continuación pueden apreciar un resumen de las actividades principales de Beda a lo largo
de este curso 2015/16, pero queríamos destacar ante todo una actividad que se está llevando
a cabo con motivo de la celebración del día del libro (23 de abril) que consiste en la
representación de la obra ROMEO Y JULIETAde WILLIAM SHAKESPEARE.
Hemos elegido esta obra porque hace 400 años que murió Shakespeare y hemos
seleccionado la obra de Romeo y Julieta porque hemos pensado que es de las más conocidas
por nuestros alumnos. Además hemos visto la película antigua y también la nueva interpretada
por Leonardo de Caprio.
Escogimos el curso de tercero de Eso porque son bastante animados y les motivaba la idea de
interpretar una tragedia romántica, los alumnos están poniendo mucho de su parte al igual
que los miembros del Ampa, así que con la colaboración de todos hemos creado un escenario
muy bonito y hemos elaboradounos trajes típicos de la época (siglo XVI).
Como no queríamos que la obra fuera demasiado larga seleccionamos cuatro escenas
acabando con la escena del balcón de Romeo y Julieta y empezando con la pelea de los
Montesco y los Capuleto en la plaza de Verona. El texto es el original aunque hemos acortado
un poco los diálogos para que los alumnos pudieran aprenderse los papeles con mayor
facilidad.
Las personas implicadas son los alumnos de 3º de ESO y de PMAR principalmente, aunque
también hemos contado con la ayuda de alumnos de 1º ESO y DIVER 2 para la decoración del
escenario.
Comenzamos a seleccionar los personajes de la obra en el mes de abril y hemos estado
ensayando desde entonces hasta ahora en horario no lectivo. Está siendo muy emocionante a
la vez que agotador, pero esperamos que salga bien.
La interpretación se realizará las dos últimas horas del próximo jueves en el pabellón de
nuestro colegio y podrán asistir los alumnos de secundaria y los padres de los actores y actrices
así como los ayudantes en la decoración del escenario.
FIRST TERM
HALLOWEEN.31st OCTOBER
In the primary level, students made small theatres using cardboard shoes with monsters holding on
them and elaborated posters in groups and masks of ghosts. The Department of Art collaborated in this
activity. In the secondary level, students learnt about the history of Halloween and did works related to
the celebration of this day in all English speaking countries.
GUY FAWKES OR BONFIRE NIGHT.5

NOVEMBER
In the secondary level, students learnt about Guy Fawkes and his burning when he wanted to blow up
the Palace Of Westminster. The activities were done with the help of the History Department. The
students of the third and fourth courses of the secondary level elaborated some power point
expositions about the dinner and the history of this important day in United States.
CHRISTMAS
In the primary level, students learnt Christmas carols with the help of the Music Department. Besides,
all students decorated their classrooms with stars and small Christmas trees. In addition to this, the
students memorized a poem about a snowman and learnt new vocabulary as well as the rhythm and
intonation of English poetry.
In the secondary level, students of the first course sang a Christmas carol and all the teachers also sang
an English Christmas carol.
SECOND TERM
PANCAKE DAY (one day before Ash Wednesday) AND ASH WEDNESDAY
In the secondary level, students looked information about such days on the Internet and filled in
worksheets about carnival in Notting Hill (London) and about the meaning of the Pancake Day as well as
the main ingredients and recipe of the mentioned cake.

SAINT PATRICK´S DAY. 17 MARCH
In the primary level, students drew shamrocks and Irish flags, and then they decorated their classrooms
and the corridors’ walls with such drawings.
In the secondary level, students filled some worksheets with information about the celebration of this
day and watched some videos about the main parades in Dublin.
EASTER
In the primary level, the auxiliary of conversation told the students the story tales about the Easter
bunny and the Easter egg. Children decorated real eggs with markers. The Art teacher collaborated with
this activity.
THIRD TERM
SAINT GEORGE’S DAY.23

APRIL. DAY OF THE BOOK
In the primary level, students translated the main parts of Red Riding Hood and played the story tale.
In the secondary level, the students of the third course and Pmar II played Romeo and Juliet to
commemorate that Shakespeare died 400 hundred years ago.

MOTHER’S DAY.1 MAY
Primary and Secondary students decorated flowers and wrote love messages on them in English.
