Employee Spotlight
Bryan Heaton’s interest
in the healthcare
Manager
sector stems from
Intermountain Healthcare
his undergraduate
studies at Bringham
Young University. As
part of his economics
degree, Bryan enrolled
in economics health
courses and became
familiar with the various
industry challenges that
contribute to the high
cost of healthcare. “I was
interested in the prospect of assisting healthcare providers
find solutions to contain costs,” Bryan said.
Bryan Heaton
After working various jobs in construction and electrical
maintenance to pay for school, Bryan began his career with
Accretive Health in 2012 as an operations lead. Over the years,
Bryan has advanced in his career and is currently the manager
of our client relationship with the Intermountain Healthcare
Pre-Service Departments.
Bryan works closely with client management, operators,
and the support team to ensure that our technology
meets client needs through enhanced communication,
clean work processes, and innovation. He is responsible
for developing processes to accommodate the needs of
the front end departments of Intermountain Healthcare’s
revenue cycle.
Most notable is Bryan’s work assisting the IT team in the
development of AHtoLink. “Their vision for the product is
exciting and contagious. I believe AHtoLink will be a key
component of point of service registration in healthcare in
the future,” he said.
Additionally, Bryan has played an integral role in the
implementation of A2A in the Intermountain Emergency
department, which has led to a 30% reduction in front end
related denials over the past two years. Bryan truly enjoys
finding innovative solutions to the problems that our
clients face on a daily basis. “It’s gratifying to know that
a new process, tool configuration, or tool enhancement
has made their jobs easier and contributed to a stronger
bottom line,” said Bryan.

Southfield Move
In previous editions of The Pulse, we have discussed the expansion
of our shared services capacity in Michigan to better serve customers
and position the company for future growth. We are happy to
announce that numerous employee groups have made the transition
to the Southfield location and that the facility is officially open.
Through this move, we have successfully synchronized groups and
departments under a dedicated location. On August 24, 80 employees
from the Medicaid Eligibility Hub (MEH) in Warren moved to the
Southfield location. Additionally, approximately 230 team members
moved from the Warren CBO location on September 11, and completed
their first day in the Southfield office on September 14. Lastly, we have
created capacity for our CSU operation in Southfield by serving two
clients out of the facility.
The Southfield transition signifies the company’s continued growth and
expansion. The new location features large dedicated training rooms
where new hire training as well as ongoing continuous education will
take place. Management is confident that this move will help us grow,
scale and diversify our client base.

Accretive India
Most Admired
Person Initiative
Accretive India Holds
Semi-Annual All
Managers Meeting
Accretive Health India recently hosted its semiannual All
Managers Meet (AMM) in July. The theme of the event was
E = MC2, where E stands for Execution par Excellence,
M stands for Model, and C2 stands for Connect and
Collaboration. The event reinforced the following values:
the spirit of teamwork, the importance of connectivity and
collaboration, and excellence in delivery and execution.
Colleagues gained valuable insight from leaders who
emphasized the importance of building a scalable model
and working in partnership with team members to achieve
outstanding results. The program also featured experts
from the industry who spoke on government models and
processes for strategic thinking.
Accretive India is excited to have recently
launched the Most Admired Person (MAP) initiative.
Implemented in early August, the MAP initiative
allows employees to acknowledge their peers who
have contributed to creating a positive culture and
work environment.
Employees are encouraged to nominate coworkers
they believe have demonstrated positive traits in
the workplace. When submitting a nomination,
employees were asked to specify the particular
quality they admire about the nominee. Teams from
both the Gurgaon and Noida locations participated,
and 61 employees in total were nominated.
The MAP winners were then announced by the senior
leadership team in a September town hall meeting
and were publicly recognized for their excellence.
This initiative is another step towards promoting an
appreciative work culture and a sense of camaraderie
amongst employees.
Congratulations to all of the MAP winners!
The program concluded with the
semiannual Rewards and Recognition
ceremony where the Accretive Icon and
Business Enabler awards were distributed
to employees for their demonstration of
excellence. Please join us in congratulating
the following winners:

Accretive Health
Participates in
Life Remodeled
In August, Accretive Health and St. John Charge Description
Master (CDM) associates partnered with Life Remodeled,
a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the
Detroit community. Life Remodeled aims to enhance local
communities by establishing long-term sustainable growth
and development.
Each year, the organization works to revitalize the city
of Detroit by restoring a local school and the blocks
surrounding it. Accretive Health worked to remove blight
from streets near Osbourne High School to create and
promote safe pathways for children traveling to and
from school. “It was extremely hard work, but well worth
it,” said Debra Smith, CDM Senior Manager at Accretive
Health. “Osborne High School is truly being renovated and
outfitted for success.”
This year alone, Life Remodeled volunteers have beautified
302 blocks, boarded up 472 houses, and remodeled 21
homes in the local community. Accretive Health is proud
to have partnered with this inspirational organization and
looks forward to working with Life Remodeled in the future.
