The Club will use the web to distribute pertinent information to its members as well as to the public. The Schussboomer, of course, will still be sent directly to your house and serve as the printed reminder of club activities, but there may be changes that occur after a Boomer is printed. Therefore, it is worthwhile to check the web periodically for any such changes. There have been a few new additions to the site in the last month - a search function and an option to display events and trips in a calendar page format. We are working on integrating the membership database so that membership signups, renewals, and trip signups can all occur online. We are a few months away from that yet, but today you can get all the forms and applications you need for membership and trips. Our aim to give you up-to-date information in a format that is easy to use. If you have a great idea, please submit it to the Webmaster under the ‘contact us’ section, which is available for you and the general public to provide suggestions or to get questions answered. Feel free to use it when you need to. See you online! BANFF/ Lake Louise April 2-9, 2005 Pamper yourself at the Fairmont Banff Springs Hotel and the Chateau Lake Louise! All trips are still taking signups, but Snowbird, Tahoe and Aspen are on wait list status - so you may want to consider other destinations we offer. Banff/Lake Louise and Sun Valley each have only 2 spaces left. Those won’t last long. Beaver Creek, Telluride and our European offerings still have plenty of space, so those would be good choices to assure you space on a trip. Note that we changed our options for Austria from what was originally advertised (adding Prague as a post trip choice). Our Kitzbuhel option is full, but we still have room on other choices. Lastly, we added a Thanksgiving trip with the Indiana Ski Council to our trip roster, so if that interests you, please check the ad in this month’s Boomer for pricing and details. Our Club members are still traveling to Australia and New Zealand in July 2005, but we have partnered with the Louisville Ski Club, who will be serving as our trip leaders and handling all the up front paperwork and trip logistics. Please check out our individual ads as well as the trip summary page in this month’s Boomer for the latest up to date pricing and contact information. MIDWEST - Juli Clark, Midwest VP Can you feel it?!? Ski season is almost upon us! Are your skis tuned up?!? Are you tuned up?!? Head out to Perfect North with us on December 18th and get those kinks out! Our PSIA-certified instructors will be on hand to give lessons to the never-evers in the club, while the other skiers and racers will be attempting their early season tune-up. Getting the rust off the knees and the cobwebs off the skis! After your season warm-up, head east to Seven Springs PA, ski a couple of days, celebrate New Years in style, then ski some more! This is an OVSC trip, so racing and good times are definitely on the agenda! Two more opportunities to sharpen your new-found ski skills are scheduled for January 29th and February 26th. Impress your friends and our instructors by showing off how much you’ve learned and improved since your first lesson! Continue to be that sponge, and soak up more pointers! Finish off your Midwest schedule with our season finale at Wisp Mountain, MD. It’s another OVSC trip, with good times guaranteed, fast times on the race course a sure bet, and the opportunity to put more polish onto those skills you’ve soaked up. Ski ya! This sure came in handy when we landed in a sand trap or behind that pesky tree! Our beer cart girl, Juli Clark was terrific (I don't know how she remembered where we were and what we ordered!)
