The big day is upon us! It’s finally time to sign up for our 20152016 ski trips. Continuing our tradition from the last few years, we’ll once again meet at the Embassy Suites Hotel in Cool Springs. Please remember to bring multiple checks: one for your annual membership fee and one for each trip you plan to attend. Though we’ll have membership forms and trip waivers available on-site, you can find them on our website by clicking on the TRIPS tab and you’ll see the link for the forms just above the logos for our trip destinations. Fill them out ahead of time and beat the rush! Note that there’s no official pre-meeting get-together for drinks at 5:30. You’ll find more trip details on later pages of this newsletter but here’s a quick recap: Snowmass, CO - Nancy G. - January 16-23 Big Sky, MT - Sara B. - January 30 - February 5 Vail, CO - Joe M. - February 27 - March 6 Don’t be late to the meeting as participants are signed up on a first-come, firstserved basis and you want to get your first choice of trips! We'll be leaving on the Saturday of the holiday weekend instead of returning on that date so that we don't have to compete with the 1500 members of the Texas Ski Council the week before! We will be staying at Top of the Village condos, which is a great property! This is a ski in/ski out lodge and it is located at the base next to the lifts and restaurants. We have 2 bedroom/2 bath condos reserved, but some 3 bedroom are available. We will be flying United directly into Aspen and have only a 15 or so minute ride to Top of the Village condos. Once again we’ll work with Black Tie Ski Rentals to have the equipment brought to us! Full package without lifts: $1596.00 Land only without lifts: $982.00 Lifts are interchangeable to Aspen Mountain, Snowmass Mountain, Buttermilk and Aspen Highlands Adult 5-of-7 day lift ticket: $320.05 Adult 6-of-7 day lift ticket: $399.00 Senior 5-of-7 day lift ticket: $248.00 (65+) Senior 6-of-7 day lift ticket: $297.00 (65+) So depending on the lifts you choose----that will determine your full price plus lift tickets. This will be a fantastic trip!!!! We have 32 lodging spots reserved and 32 air spots reserved. There is a possibility to expand, but only if we know early because Top of the Village sells out quickly; it is a very popular property in Snowmass. If you were on our Snowmass trip in 2012, you will remember the wonderful dinners we had. Former NSC member Don Platte lives in Snowmass and he helped arrange several of our dinners at wonderful locations and much reduced prices. I have already talked to Don and he is still in Snowmass and planning to work on getting us great locations and great prices for dinners again. Blackstone Restaurant & Brewery 1918 West End Ave Nashville, Tennessee 37203 Exchange Students Seek Host Families The club has been contacted by EF High School Exchange Year, looking for two families in the Nashville area to host exchange students from Europe. Our club was contacted because both of these young men enjoy skiing so the hope was that they could be placed with families that share that interest. Eric is 17 and from Sweden! He’s a sports and fitness nut who is up for any adventure you put in front of him. Tough Mudders, skiing, football, etc.! He loves it all. His father and brother were both exchange students and now it’s his turn to experience the USA. Tim is 16 and he’s from Germany. He has passion for basketball, skiing and golf. He’s looking for a family to just treat him like one of the gang! Tim and Eric are both excellent students, they are fluent in English, come with their own spending money and health insurance. They are top notch teens who bring so much to the table.
