We are having a Golf Tournament in May of 2014. I am asking for everyone to help with suggestions as to how to make this tournament a huge success. Please get with me with your creative ideas. We are gong to have Hole Sponsors and will need to get Door Prizes. I will need all the help I can get. Thanks in advance. Worthy President Nick Kampen LETTER FROM MADAM PRESIDENT My brothers and sisters. I hope many of you saw the new plants on our patio. Many thanks to Margaret Thomas, Robyn Davis, Dorothy Sackmann, Denise Oja and John Macalusa. Now that the weather is getting cooler please feel free to relax on our renovated patio. August charities were the Youth Rally and the Dog Chain Club. For those of you who do not know what the Dog Chain Club is, the Eagles raise money to train seeing eye dogs as well as other disabilities. The Youth Rally raised $167.00 and the Dog Chain raised $724.00. Thank you Michael Davis and Gary Rosenbaum. September our Charity was the State Presidents charity, Arnold Palmer Children’s Hospital. Our chair people, Michael Davis, Betsy Gray and Maryanne Poupore raised a whopping $1366.00. We have several exciting events going on in the next two months. November our charity is DD Dunlap Kidney Fund, the chair people are myself, Gary Rosenbaum and Zita Vankus. We are hosting a Halloween Party November 1, 2013. We will be having a costume contest, so please feel free to dress up in your craziest costumes. November 15, we will be hosting another ‘Murder Mystery Dinner’ set in the 1970’s Disco. We did this last year and everyone had a blast. Another special event is a poker tournament on Saturday November 23. $10.00 buy in and a guarantee of $200.00 for the winner. We will also being raffling off $100 worth of Scratch Off Tickets as well as a cruise on a charter boat (3 winners plus their guests.) Our December charity will be Harmony House our local children’s charity. Please check our newsletter as well as notices at the club. Remember, I would love to hear all of your ideas, compliments and complaints. We also welcome any and all help for our various charities, though we may have chair people each month, I know they would love to have extra volunteers. (You do not have to be an officer to help.)
