South Suburban offers several options for honoring a special person or occasion.

Memorial Fees
Fees provide for initial installation as well as care and upkeep. Please note that Ketring Park, the Mary
Carter Greenway, Littleton Trail and Golf Courses have specialized benches and will cost more than the
standard benches. Prices for shelters, sculpture and rest stops will be determined after they are designed.
Please note that it may take up to 3 months to get a memorial bench ordered, shipped and installed.
A shelter, sculpture or rest stop may take longer than 3 months. Tree plantings are done in the
spring and fall.
Examples of the benches and tree plaque are shown at the end of this document.

Location and Approval
Locations must be approved in writing by the South Suburban staff. Staff can assist you with site selection.
After approval, please turn in this signed contract along with full payment. A memorial location is not
reserved without payment in full as well as a signed memorial contract by the donor and South Suburban.
We are no longer able to accept requests for memorial benches along
the High Line Canal Trail.

Inscriptions
Bench donations include an inscribed plaque. The plaque for the standard park bench will fit up to 7 lines
of text with 28 characters per line including spaces. The plaque for the Ketring Park bench will fit up to 4
lines of text with 14 characters including spaces. The plaque for the Mary Carter Greenway bench will fit
up to 4 lines of text with 14 characters including spaces. The golf course bench will fit up to 6 lines of text
with 35 characters per line including spaces.
When you donate a tree, an inscribed metal “leaf” is also added to a commemorative plaque which is
displayed at Goodson Recreation Center. The leaf inscription can be up to 100 characters including spaces.
You may also have opportunities for adding an inscribed message/plaque with the other memorial options.
Staff can assist you with guidelines.

Signatures
The undersigned hereby agrees to make the above designated donation to South Suburban Park and
Recreation District. The parties acknowledge that the intent of this program is to place and display
memorials in perpetuity, barring circumstances which could necessitate the memorial being removed,
moved, stored, or modified. South Suburban will dedicate a good faith effort to the memorial's
preservation, but bears no liability of any nature. Donor further acknowledges that it retains no property
or other rights regarding the memorial.
