LIBRA
TAURUS
Your focus is stronger than it has ever been, which means
conquering responsibilities with ease. You may even figure
out a few solutions to issues that have been plaguing you
lately. You have to remember to take great care of those
that are close to you, as well. Make sure people know that
you haven't forgotten about them in your effort to advance.
Your focus is strong this week, Aries. You have so many
different responsibilities on your plate, but you are so ready
for them all. You know how to organize your time. You may
not have been keeping up with your time management, but
something will click in you. You are stringing everything
together in just the right way. That should provide the
confidence necessary to climb even higher than you may
think at times.
Your nerves may be fraying this week, Taurus. You have
been working towards so many different goals while there
are external stresses that keep coming in. Work on finding
ways to find your centre. Take a few breaths, take a few
minutes to yourself. Meditation is an important part to
keeping you balanced.

This week is all about you, Gemini. It is time to take some
time for yourself to get everything figured out. Alone time
may be necessary. You can find so many solutions. This may
be the beginning of an overhaul of certain situations that
you haven't been very happy in. So many differences are
coming your way. Keep a level head and remain positive, it
isn't as scary as it seems!
CANCER
You should be proud of yourself, Cancer. You have been
making so many positive changes and you are at the top
of your game. You are finally figuring out what you really

SCORPIO
SAGITTARIUS
Move past the past, Sagittarius! Some things may pop up
this week that you haven't thought about in the longest
time. They may not be pleasant, so it is important to
draw the line if things get too tense. We all have baggage
and we carry it with us, but we don't have to let it define
us. Move on from the negatives and on to the positives.
CAPRICORN
Stability is important this week, Capricorn. You have been
all over the place and you may not know what the outcomes
are for the various aspects of your life. It is time to stay in
place and let things figure themselves out. While of course,
there are things that you need to focus on. Simply pick
what is priority at this point and work on that, then the
next thing.
AQUARIUS
You are the only one in your way, Leo. When you have
your doubts, you need to push them out of the way. More
often than not, it is just our minds playing tricks on us. If
you have a lot on your mind, work on clearing that out as
best as you can. You don't need all of the extra baggage
weighing you down- pack light.
No risk no reward, Aquarius. There are so many moves that
you are going to have to make this week. Your confidence
is extremely important. You may notice people trying to
move in on your turf in certain situations. Make sure they
know where you stand and where they are supposed to be
instead. You have worked too hard to get to where you are
and you deserve the glory for it.
VIRGO
PISCES
LEO
Look inside yourself this week, Virgo. Everything that you
need to know is right there in your heart. Whether you want
to admit to it or not, there are so many things you've been
avoiding. Think about how wonderful things could be, if you
just allowed them to fall into place. No more avoiding the
important things.
MR METICULOUS - CLEANING SERVICES
We have the best trained, professional and experienced cleaning technicians,
promising high-quality cleaning service.
We deliver a 100% organic, chemical free cleaning service
Health issues are prominent right now, Libra. If you have
been ignoring problems lately, it is time to make it a
priority. You may have worries about your own or someone
else's. It is time to say something about it. Do something,
anything to make it different. Health is incredibly
important. People will understand if you need to take your
own into serious consideration.
Believe it or not - you're a little more transparent than you
think and all your attempts at subtlety might not be well
placed this week. Be honest with how you feel about all of
the situations going on in your life. There doesn't need to
be a difficult process that comes with everything. While not
everything is black and white, you have to remember to
find the quickest ways to your goals and solutions.

CAT OF THE WEEK
Name:Porchie
Age:
7 years
Breed: Dark Tortie DSH
Porchie is an adorable little pudding
who loves it when you rub her big belly
or brush her silky fur coat. Relaxed and
friendly with just about everyone she
meets, Porchie could be a great fit for
most homes. Her people will need to
resist the temptation to feed her treats
or extra meals as Porchie is on a diet to
reduce her girth and ensure she reaches
a healthy size. Encouragement to play will
also be beneficial as playing is just like
exercise only fun – for everyone involved.

ARTS with Sandra T.
"Anything Goes"
at the Sydney
Opera House
Sydney theatre lovers are in for a treat when the brand new
Australian production of the smash hit musical comedy,
“Anything Goes”, presented by leading Australian theatre
producer John Frost and Opera Australia Artistic Director,
Lyndon Terracini, plays at the Joan Sutherland Theatre,
Sydney Opera House from 5 September 2015.
Cole Porter’s much loved musical features a hilarious tale of
topsy-turvy relationships, mistaken identities and foiled plots,
peppered with some of musical theatre’s most memorable
standards including You’re The Top, De-Lovely, I Get A Kick Out
Of You and of course the title song, Anything Goes.
Winner of three Tony Awards, including Best Musical Revival
and Choreography during its most recent Broadway revival,
“Anything Goes” is a stunning nautical favourite, hailed by The
New York Times as “musical comedy joy” and called “glorious
and exuberant” by USA Today.
Directed by Dean Bryant and choreographed by Andrew
Hallsworth, it has just been announced that Gerry Connolly
will play the Captain of the S.S. American in the Sydney Opera
House season, following his success during the Melbourne and
Brisbane seasons. Alan Jones has had to withdraw from the
role, due to his increased radio and television commitments.
Connolly plays opposite Caroline O’Connor as evangelist
turned nightclub singer Reno Sweeney; Todd McKenney as
Lord Evelyn Oakleigh; Alex Rathgeber as young Wall Street
broker Billy Crocker; Claire Lyon will be American debutante
Hope Harcourt; Carmen Duncan in her musical theatre debut
as Evangeline Harcourt; Wayne Scott Kermond as second-rate
gangster Moonface Martin; Debora Krizak as Moonface’s
girlfriend Erma and Bartholomew John as Wall Street banker
Elisha J. Whitney.
For decades, “Anything Goes” has captivated millions with its
story of madcap antics aboard the SS American. When the
ocean liner embarks from New York to London, etiquette and
convention get tossed out the portholes as two unlikely pairs
set off on the course to find true love, proving that sometimes
destiny needs a little help from a crew of singing sailors, an
exotic disguise and some good old fashioned blackmail.
“Anything Goes” is a shining example of classic musical
theatre, complete with amazing tap dancing, hilarious jokes,
unlikely happy endings and of course, wonderful songs,” said
Lyndon Terracini and John Frost. “After the overwhelming
success of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s “South Pacific” and
“The King and I”, a revival of “Anything Goes” featuring the
dazzling music of Cole Porter seemed the obvious choice.
Since its Broadway premiere, it has become one of the best
loved and most revived musicals of all time.

BRUCE NOTLEY-SMITH
FROM THE
MAYOR'S desk
Mayor of
Randwick
Ted Seng
John Comino, for being guest speaker at this
ceremony. My congratulations to all our new
Australian citizens - I hope you love living in a
great part of Sydney and I wish you all the best
for the future.
Mayor of
Woollahra
Toni Zeltzer
Last week, I was honoured to host the sixth
biennial Randwick City Architecture and
Urban Design Awards at the Prince Henry
Centre, Little Bay.
More than 200 people celebrated and
recognised the best of the best in sustainable
urban development and design and were
inspired by a truly high calibre of entrants.
I was honoured to welcome the Hon. Rob
Stokes, Minister for Planning to the event
who openly acknowledged what a fantastic
job our area is doing in improving Sydney’s
built landscapes.
I am thrilled that so many architects and
designers continue to rise to the challenge of
enhancing Randwick’s urban environment,
providing an important role model for others
to follow.
Congratulations to all the winners and I
look forward to seeing some more amazing
achievements in this space into the future.

Last Thursday I had the pleasure of attending
the Community Awareness of Policing
Program in Local Area Commands (CAPP in
LACs) at Rose Bay.
This event, developed by the NSW Police Force
Customer Service Program, is designed
to provide a unique opportunity to “walk in
the shoes of a police officer”. I would like
to thank Superintendent Brad Hodder,
Commander, Rose Bay, LAC and his team, for
this kind invitation. I found it to be very
informative, particularly the Police Rescue
demonstration, and a testament to the
contribution from our highly valued police
staff and area commands for outstanding work
in the community. It was nice to see a cross
section of community leaders supporting
the program.
I was delighted to catch up with former Mayor
of Woollahra Council and Councillor
Isabelle Shapiro, who has been as a strong
advocate for community safety in Woollahra
for many years, and Rabbi Mendel Kastel of
Jewish House.
I look forward to welcoming 38 new Australian
citizens at a very special citizenship ceremony
hosted at Woollahra Council. Thank you to
former mayor of Woollahra and Councillor,

Compensation Scheme and the new Victims
Support Scheme can have their claims
reassessed from September 2015. A key
part of the justice system is ensuring the
victims of crime are treated with care,
compassion and respect. It was clear from
talking to victims and stakeholders, that
elements of the transition of these claims
from the old Victims Compensation Scheme
to the new Victims Support Scheme created
some inequities.
The NSW Government has acted to address
those inequities. We have kept our promise
to give people who were affected by the
transition the chance to have their claims
reassessed. All eligible victims will receive
written notification from the Department
of Justice during September outlining the
application process. Applicants must apply
before 31 August 2016 to have their
claim reassessed.
Applicants will have six months from the
date of their application to provide sufficient
evidence as required under the old scheme.
In cases where they received more support
from the transitional scheme, they will be
given the opportunity to withdraw
their application.
The cost of reassessing transitional claims
and making compensation payments to
claimants has been accounted for in the
NSW Budget. The Victims Support Scheme
has made it faster and easier for people to
get help when they need it, not months or
years later.
People now receive payments within a
month rather than 31 months under the old
scheme. People can also access extensive
counselling by qualified professionals. For

New measures
to improve boat
trailer parking
Member for Vaucluse, Gabrielle Upton
has welcomed new measures to crack
down on boat trailers clogging
suburban streets.
There are around 204,000 boat trailers
currently registered in NSW. This number is
forecast to increase by around 2.9 per cent
per annum of the next decade.
Currently, a boat trailer can be parked for
an indefinite period unless there are parking
restrictions or reasonable grounds to believe
the trailer has been left abandoned or left
unattended. This applies whether or not the
trailer is registered.
Under the changes, boats left in the same
place for more than three months will
be impounded.
Ms Upton said boat trailers being parked
in residential areas has been an ongoing
source of frustration for residents in densely
populated areas.
“Increasingly, boat owners are using street
parking as a long term parking solution for
their boats. This in turn has led to legitimate
concerns by residents about loss of amenity.”
“These new measures will allow council
officers to specifically target boat trailers
which have been parking for considerable
periods of time and for which their councils
have received complaints,” said Ms
Upton said.
The NSW Government has also set aside
$5 million to assist local councils and other
organisations establish off-street boat trailer
parking facilities to help ease congestion.

Eastern Beaches LAC Masquerade
Ball charity event at Racecourse
The Eastern Beaches LAC Masquerade Ball charity event will be held at
Randwick Racecourse on Saturday, August 15. It will bring together social,
corporate, political leaders & local celebrities within our local community
to raise funds for NSW Police Legacy and the Eastern Suburbs PCYC and
celebrate the work of Police officers in the Eastern Beaches Local
Area Command.
NSW Police Legacy is the NSW Police Force Charity. NSW Police Legacy's
commitment is to build on the care and support of over 20,000 serving and
retired police officers and their families during times of tragedy and need.
Initially founded to support bereaved families following the loss of their
loved one, support now extends to include police officers and their families
experiencing challenging times in their lives. The police family has grown to
include not only families suffering from loss and grief, but those experiencing
misfortune that require extra support.
Ms Amanda Keller will be the MC for evening and entertainment will be
provided by Ms Belinda Adams (The Voice) and the NSW Police Band.
Rotary Club of Randwick is proud to support our local Police officers through
