AUTOMATICA2014 in retrospect: Service robotics a hit
AUTOMATICA added the sector for professional service robotics to its range of exhibits in 2014. 55 exhibitors
presented their service-robotics exhibits, and visitors profited from expert interviews and live demonstrations. In 2014,
the new exhibition sector focused on marketable end products and components for the B2B sector.
The new focal point generated a great deal of interest among visitors and exhibitors alike. We want to continue
this success story at AUTOMATICA2016. After all, the market for service robotics is constantly growing.
Prognosis for the future use of service robotics
Service robotics has a great deal of market potential, and not
just in the production-assistance sector. An increase in
service-robotics sales is also expected in the sector for mobile
platforms—from its current level of 400 units per year to
an estimated average of 2,500 units per year. Positive growth
is also being forecast for applications in rescue and security,
professional cleaning and public relations.

generating a great deal of interest on the part of daily newspapers and business
magazines in particular. Media representatives from Germany and abroad do not
want to miss out on this major event: 319 journalists from 20 countries were
accredited in 2014.
