BERGAMO FILM MEETING
International Film Festival
On the occasion of its 34th edition (5-13 March 2016), Bergamo Film Meeting International Film Festival will present an incredibly rich and varied programme,
featuring about 140 films of national and international production.
Bergamo Film Meeting will present a full-length film competition section, along with

the past, recent productions, art exhibitions and installations, special events for
schools, animation films, labs and workshops, lectures, Q&As with filmmakers, and
much more.
A precious opportunity to meet people, to network with film professionals, to

Italian Festival calendar.
Bergamo Film Meeting was the
recipient of two prizes at Festival of
Festivals, organised by the national
cultural event association, which
once again proves the Festival’s
commitment to innovation and
cultural change: BFM won the Best
Sponsorship/Partnership

awarded to a project in collaboration
with Elav Independent Brewery, and
the Best Book/Catalogue Award.

but also at national and international level. Highly praised by film critics, BFM is yearly

60.000 attendees in a 9-day schedule full of screenings and events.
TO BE PART of the development, preservation and diffusion of cinematic culture and to
share the mission of the Festival, meant at giving visibility to new authors and to emerging
cinematic cultures, and at rediscovering great cinema from the past.

communication that may benefit from the Festival’s media coverage, as well as to gather
a new audience: numerous, young and culturally dynamic.
Customized forms of collaboration
with institutions and business partners
can be fine-tuned in close contact
with the Festival organizers. Different
forms of financial contributions are
possible. The partner of a BFM event

strategies, channels and means
that will grant it maximum public
visibility, in terms of both network
and promotion.

COMMUNICATION
PRESS REVIEWS
“Unlike other Festivals in the international
cinematographic galaxy, Bergamo Film
Meeting has a precise cultural identity, run
as it is by a motivated, highly experienced
staff, and followed by an audience that
is deeply connected with the spirit of the
event. It is surprising, and comforting, too,
to see the Auditorium theatre packed with
aware, curious spectators”.
Davide Ferrario,
Corriere della sera – ed. Bergamo
“This is great, entertaining cinema.
The Competition section filled the theatre
more than a blockbuster. There were long
lines of spectators, even in the pouring
rain. Night birds stayed up until 2 AM to
watch The Man in the White Suit, starring
Alec Guinness. This is the chronicle of a
recurring miracle in Piazza Libertà”.
Fabio Cuminetti,
Corriere della sera – ed. Bergamo
“As usual, Bergamo Film Meeting
managed to find the secret formula of
cinematic pleasure; the pleasure of a
demanding audience, made up of both
insatiable cinephiles and new-film
hunters. From yet undiscovered gems to
classical re-discoveries, the Festival takes
the audience on a journey that makes one
wish days were made of 36 hours - so one
would not have to miss anything”.
Paolo Mereghetti,
Corriere della Sera
“Between those who wish to recover
the cornerstones of the Seventh Art, and
those who dream about seeing classic
masterpieces on the silver screen again,
comes Bergamo Film Meeting, a Festival
that meets both legitimate, noble desires
with a schedule that brings together
the love for classics and the search for
innovative, contemporary production”.
Chiara Bruno,
Film Tv
“More than 20 years old, this is a
non-conformist Festival that makes
culture alive through films, books and
distribution”.
Silvio Danese,
Il Giorno
“Devoted to the analysis of new research
films and to the rediscovery of classic
cinema, Bergamo Film Meeting proves
every single year to be the most rigorous,
most cultured Festival in Italy”.
Lietta Tornabuoni,
La Stampa
“Bergamo Film Meeting gathers
approximately 25.000 spectators every
year. Retrospectives alone would be
worth the attention of the many attendees
who come all the way to Bergamo”.
Maurizio Cabona,
Il Giornale
“Over a quarter of a century old, and a
probably the most long-running Festival
in Lombardy, Bergamo Film Meeting is
definitely one of our most refined, most
loved cultural events”.
Alberto Pezzotta,
Corriere della Sera
“...the only international Festival in Italy
that is still able to entertain people with
cinema culture, exhuming masterpieces
of the past and risking its life with presentday innovative filmmakers”.
Mario Serenellini,
La Repubblica
“...a Festival that is always trustful
and precise in its retrospectives and
publications, and is particularly keen on
searching for new talents”.
