Atlantic Challenge Canada
Have you ever seen the
bright red, three-masted
Tenacite heading out on
Midland Bay? Chart a
course for adventure
with Atlantic Challenge
Canada and learn to row
and sail these speedy
historic 38 foot gigs.
Anyone aged 14 and
over (adults too!) is welcome to join the weekly
Tuesday night program based out of Bay Port
Yachting Centre. In 2016, Canada will send a crew to
compete in the International Contest of Seamanship
in Denmark. Why not learn to sail these unique
boats this summer and apply to be part of the action
overseas next year? For details on this experiential
education and leadership program visit

5.5 m North American Regatta
On Father's Day weekend Bay Port hosted the first
International 5.5 Metre North American Regatta.
The weekend of racing saw these sleek former
Olympic class boats take to the bay which responded
with heavy winds for outstanding competition.
One of the entrants was none other than Parkbridge's
own Ken MacDonald, proud owner of Jill Dansk.
Perhaps you've seen her gleaming hull docked at Bay
Port. Ask Ken about his extensive restoration of the
1952 Danish Olympic boat and how much fun she is
to sail. Bay Port will proudly host the 2015 edition
on June 19-21. Learn more about the re-emergence
of the 5.5 m boats at www.5.5class.org

Dream Destination
Scott Cain
General Manager
It may be the middle of winter,
but I bet you're dreaming about
boating: The kids laughing and
splashing in the warm water after
an over-the-top day of tubing
with their cousins. Pulling in a trophy fish that fought
like a tiger before breaking the surface in a sparkling
cascade of white splashes. Capturing the wind in
tightly stretched sails as you coax just a little more
speed out of your sailboat. A constantly changing
picture perfect landscape of rugged rock and majestic
trees. Relaxing contently as the setting sun streaks a
vibrant paintbrush across the sky putting an
exclamation point on another magnificent day.
Georgian Bay is definitely a dream destination and
Bay Port helps you live the dream every day. Start
dreaming of summer with us at the Toronto
International Boat Show January 9 to 18 and then
turn it up a notch at our own Georgian Bay In-Water

Midland
Boat Show June 5 to 7. After last year's hugely
successful first time event we knew we had to do it
again! Don't miss 2015's newest models and products,
the awesome kids zone and mariner's marketplace,
tours of the bay, local artists, artisans, food,
entertainment and live presentations.
Throughout the year Bay Port is your destination for
our scheduled on-shore festivities like Winterfest and
summer BBQs as well as on-water events including
the Parkbridge Guys and Gals Sailing Regatta and
our ever-popular power and sailboat rendezvous. In
2014 we introduced live music on some spring and
fall Friday nights with musicians setting up in the
gazebo or dry stack to entertain boaters. We'll be
hitting the high notes again this year – follow us on
Facebook for details.
With all of this excitement it's no wonder we were
voted the 2014 Readers Choice Favourite Marina by
Mirror newspaper readers.
Besides remarkable boating on Georgian Bay, Bay
Port offers a choice location and if you've had a little
too much fun in the sun why not spend a day ashore.
There's plenty to see and do just minutes from our
marina. Explore the unique boutiques in downtown
Midland or stock up with fresh produce at the
Sunday morning farmers' market. Travel back in time
at Sainte-Marie among the Hurons or canoe through
the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre and get up close with
birds, reptiles and snakes. Take a tasty trip to a
Bay Port

remarkable restaurant then rejuvenate at a local day
spa and be ready for tomorrow's adventure on
beautiful Georgian Bay. Or for something completely
different why not head up the Trent Severn Waterway.
Plan a day trip to experience the engineering marvel
Big Chute Marine Railway, make it a weekend and
visit Orillia or take longer and watch the entire 386
km journey unfold before you.
We remind you we are a full service marina catering
to all sizes of boats both power and sail. Bay Port has
the ability to do the little things like clean your boat
on a weekly basis with complete detailing or touch up
the bottom paint as well as the big things like fix
everything from outboards to diesel engines or install
brand new decking. We have the experience, the
expertise and the outstanding service whether it's the
knowledge and experience of our gas dock attendants,
our friendly customer service representatives or our
highly trained technicians. We are all here to help our
valued customers, you are our priority. We are a
Platinum Mercury dealer offering the best pricing in
outboards and inflatables.
We know everyone has choices and we sincerely
thank you for choosing Bay Port.
This year experience the Bay Port difference.

season? For the first
time in years we
welcomed back the
water. Those higher
water levels were a cause for celebration and boaters
rediscovered favourite anchorages, swimming spots
and beaches. Good news! Fall levels were still up and
we are eagerly anticipating another superb season of
boating.
Trailer Storage
We are introducing a convenient, easily accessible
way to safely and securely store your trailer on-site.
Our innovative racking technology preserves your
trailer and tires, keeps it secure and organizes the
yard. Whether you choose new technology or dry
land trailer storage come in, email or call Patti to
make arrangements.

it's no wonder we were

Midland Penetanguishene
Mirror newspaper.
Share the Excitement (and the Savings!)
The 20/20 Parkbridge Advantage Incentive is easy.
Refer a friend or relative who isn't already a
Parkbridge customer and when they rent a slip at any
of our Parkbridge Marinas you receive a cheque or
credit for 20% of their dock rental. As a bonus they
receive 20% off their dockage! What better way to
share the joy of boating, and put some cash in your
pocket?
Diamond Rating
We shine as a Diamond Clean Marine. At Bay Port
we strive to be environmentally friendly and with the
help and support of our caring customers our efforts
have been rewarded as we've earned the prestigious
diamond rating in the Marina Green Leaf Eco-Rating
Program. This year we continue the commitment as
we install new above ground better-for-theenvironment fuel tanks and strive for cleaner, faster,
more efficient service. Combined with our 5¢ per litre
fuel discount offered exclusively to Parkbridge
Advantage customers why fuel up anywhere else?
Guys and Gals Regatta
We're excited to bring back the tradition of the Guys
and Gals Regatta. We had over 20 sailboats take to
the race course for our revitalization of this sailing
tradition. We are proud to host this fun event and
were pleased to win the trophy this year. We invite all
sailors wherever your home port is to take part in
2015. Circle the calendar now and we'll see you on the
water.

Just a quick note – Jolie. You have a gem with her ...
she is the selling reason we came to Bay Port and has
always been more than helpful when fielding our calls.
Please pass along a thank you to her, she rocks. I own
my own business, employees like this are in high
demand.
Mike Branch
I just wanted to let you know how pleased I have been
this summer with my time at Bay Port while using the
stack-storage services. Tremendous service by very
pleasant and pleasing staff at the dock and in your
customer office. Always smiling, wanting to help and
lots of laughter and jokes at the dock.
My boat has always been clean and well looked after.
Getting in and out of the water was easy with someone
always available to hold a rope or just push me off the
dock.
Really, for me it was an excellent summer and I look
forward to coming back early next spring.

Parkbridge Guys & Gals Regatta
Sailors were greeted by sunny
skies as we played host to the
2014 Parkbridge Guys and Gals
Sailboat Regatta.
First hosted 10 years ago by
Wye Heritage Marina, the
revitalized race is open to all
sailors whether or not they are
Parkbridge Marina boaters.
This year's race attracted 27
boats of all sizes for good fun,
fellowship and racing – and
bragging rights.
Thanks to the Midland Bay Sailing Club race
committee the day was well organized and the white
sail format (no spinnakers) means both experienced
and new racers could give it a try.
The handicap rating system allows boats of all types,
age and size to compete on an even playing field for
top honours.
Sailors raced from M20 (the red mark in the middle
of Midland Bay) around Snake Island to MM4 (near
Paradise Point) before heading back down the bay to
gather at Bay Port's gazebo for a social and awards.
Taking home the trophy for first place overall was Bad
Attitude, followed by Canadian Express in second
place and Hot Foot coming in third.
The top Parkbridge Marinas finisher was Legacy.
Northern Entertainer crossed the line in second and
third place was taken by Kelpie.
Start recruiting your crew now (remember you need
at least one female and one male crew) and watch for
details of our second annual event on Sat., Aug. 29.
All sailors are welcome to participate in the weekly
Wednesday night and Saturday event races organized
by the Midland Bay Sailing Club.

Wye Heritage
Celebrating 40 Years!
They say it's all about location but we have to
disagree. While it's true Wye Heritage was conceived
and created in an unbeatable location, literally the
doorstep to the most amazing cruising destination in
the world, that's not what makes us an outstanding
destination. The people are more important than the
place.
This summer several Loopers shared their thoughts
with me. These boaters see hundreds of marinas as
they complete their circle through the Great Lakes,
inland rivers and coast of the eastern United States.
They told me from the moment they entered our
marina they knew we were different. Blown away by
the friendly, efficient fuel dock staff, they were
amazed when asked if we could take their garbage.
It's the only time we've ever been asked that on the
whole Loop they said. Others were impressed by our
professionalism, high quality work and speedy
repairs. Another boater told us 'we were treated like
close friends'.
That's what sets us apart. We will wow you with
service.

We are committed to providing the best quality
service. We will be better than everyone else. We
appreciate your comments on our customer service
satisfaction surveys and it helps us improve.
It's the third year for Steve and Jennifer working
together as a team with our factory trained
technicians and I received more compliments on our
service team than ever before. That personalized
service is key to the overall growth and success of
Wye Heritage.
Clearly word is spreading; by mid-November we
already had 59 new dockage customers for the 2015
season, most of them referred through our 20/20
Parkbridge Advantage Incentive program. Simply
refer a friend or relative who isn't currently a
Parkbridge customer and when they rent a slip at any
of our Parkbridge Marinas you receive a cheque or
credit for 20% of their dock rental. As a bonus they
receive 20% off their dockage! Boating is just more
fun with friends and trusted endorsements and word
of mouth advertising is the best.
This year Wye Heritage Marina is celebrating 40 years
but we're not content to be middle aged, we're
constantly improving your experience.
Our 10 stunning new washrooms are receiving rave
reviews! These modern, spacious, private style
bathrooms complete with showers are perfect for
families. Also earning high praise is our new
playground for children, designed around a pirate
ship. These additions are all part of our family
friendly focus.

Parents were thrilled with our Saturday morning kids
program. Thanks to a brilliant suggestion from Robin
at our sister marina Beacon Bay, we introduced the
weekend kids' club idea and it was a huge hit with
several of our Wye Heritage families.
Under the creative and enthusiastic leadership of
Katie, Megan, CJ and Maggie who upped the fun
factor week after week, kids enjoyed arts and crafts,
scavenger hunts, face painting, games, hikes and
snacks. While their kids were engaged in all things
awesome parents had time to get the boat ready and
relax before heading out for the weekend with the
whole family in a great mood. Watch for the return of
this fantastic free program Saturdays in July and
August.
See you at the Toronto International Boat Show.
It may be winter but this is a terrific time to talk
boating whether it's new electronics, underwater
lights, stern thrusters or planning your summer
vacation to include one of our guided rendezvous
excursions!

I had not been to Midland and the Georgian Bay.
Was I in for a surprise … a very pleasant one! It is the
home of Wye Heritage Marina and some of the best
people I have met while enjoying my boating life.
From the moment Art and I arrived we were treated
like close friends by the staff. Full circle was serviced,
waxed, fueled and ready to go. Steve Goddard and his
assistant Jennifer were helpful in so many ways from
making sure the accessories I had ordered were ready to
go to making sure that the new dinghy I had purchased
was mounted.
This spring the weather was awful so we were stranded
in Midland for a few extra days while waiting for the
ice to melt. How do you get around, have
transportation to various restaurants where the
reservations are made for you, even have transportation
to the casino in Orillia? The answer is [their] kindness
at Wye Heritage. [They] even had an experienced
boater go over various routes so our trip back to the
States would be as safe as possible. What was especially
thoughtful was [them] calling us a day later in
Tobermory just to make sure we had arrived safely.
I love my new boat but what I really love are the
experiences she has already brought me especially from
the great people at Wye. If you are on the Loop or just
cruising in their vicinity a day or two at Wye Heritage
Marina is very well spent.

Your phenomenal photographs for
our annual photo contest say it all.
Reflected in each and every frame is
the pure exhilarating joy of boating.
Laughing kids, relaxed adults. Energy-filled action
and peaceful pauses. Misty mornings. Pets living the
dream. Awe-inspiring, take-your-breath-away scenery.
The haunting call of a loon evoked by an up close
image. Rocky shorelines. Boats rafted together, the
perfect social setting. All of them showing a shared
passion experienced with family and friends.
Every single snapshot is a magical moment in time
captured forever. Like a ray of rejuvenating summer
sunlight the images reach out, delivering a warm hug,
and promising many more memories to be made.
At Beacon Bay we're waiting to help you create those
lasting memories. Feel the transformation from your
hectic lifestyle the moment you turn into our inviting,
tree-lined driveway. Stress slips away as you escape
into our resort-style marina. It's like coming home.
Your real home. Time to take advantage of
everything Georgian Bay has to offer. We encourage
you to enjoy our on-shore activities and events from
our winter open house to summer Saturday morning
kids club. They're all designed to enhance our
community. Here kids can be kids and like a nostalgic
small town this is a safe place for all. It doesn't matter
whether you captain a million dollar vessel or a more
modest runabout, whether you're 70 and slowing
down or eight years old with boundless energy – we
all share a love of boating and immediately connect

with each. It makes us smile to see our experienced
boaters introducing newcomers and the grandchildren
to the boating lifestyle and watching their eyes light
up. Boating is a passion all generations can share and
Beacon Bay is happy to help.
You can't beat our location. Surrounded by natural
beauty like Awenda Provincial Park (perfect for
exploring kilometres of forest trails or relaxing on the
area's only dog beach) and hiking trails at nearby
Overhead Bridge Road Trail there's more than just
great boating here on beautiful Georgian Bay. In town
we have a wide range of friendly cafes overflowing
with character and creative cuisine like The Froth in
Penetanguishene and Ciboulette et Cie in Midland
who both offer culinary adventures with a warm
welcome. These businesses thrive on outstanding,
personalized customer service and add to the charm
of our unique area. We're always happy to offer
suggestions. We love questions! If you have a special
request or question come in and ask us. Where can I
get fresh baked buns or enjoy a romantic dinner? Can
I have flowers delivered to my boat? Like you we're
passionate and excited about boating and everything
that goes along with the lifestyle and want to lend a
hand to ensure you make the most of your boating
time and all that our area has to offer. If we know an
amazing anchorage we're thrilled to share it with you.

Winter Work
While the boats are safely tucked away off season now
is the time to talk to us about service work so you never
miss a moment on the water in prime boating time. Our
skilled team of technicians can repower your boat;
install bow thrusters, the latest electronics and air
conditioning; refinish the decks or apply new gelcoat or
do the repair work you put off last season. No job is
too big or too small. As a Parkbridge marina we have
the bulk buying power that ensures we offer the best
price possible on boating products, parts and
accessories. Don't forget we price match. Check us first
when you need something for the boat. BBQs, Mercury
outboards, embroidered clothing, anchors, batteries, it's
all here – and if it's not in the store we can order it for
you.
Refer a Friend and Save!
We're excited to offer the 20/20 Parkbridge Advantage
Incentive. Refer a friend or family member (who isn't a

Boating is fun because we get to go to
different places! My favourite place is
Beckwith because we get to swim in
shallow water. My second favourite
place to go is Twelve Mile Bay
because we get to explore different
and cool islands and I named one after me! I like
to colour and make books at the marina. When
we are out on the boat I like sleeping. I also like to
jump into the water and go on a dingy ride to go
fishing.

Bay Moorings

Jim Bell
General Manager
Our season never ends!
There's nothing like Georgian
Bay anywhere else in the world.
With its fascinating landscapes,
pristine waters, endless islands
and enough anchorages to last a lifetime ask yourself,
why boat anywhere else? Discover your gateway to
this stunning world on the water at Bay Moorings.
We've thought of everything from heated indoor
storage and professional staff to our unique four-point
tie up system to keep your boat safe and secure in the
water – we even have an on-site cottage you can rent
when extra hands are on deck at your boat.
At Bay Moorings we're always hard at work
improving your boating experience, even when ice
blankets the bay we all love and every boat is covered
for the winter.
This year we have an exciting development for you!
We are rolling out the welcome mat as we open the
doors to our new marina centre, providing more for
you. It conveniently brings together office and

administration, parts, service and our store all in one
dynamic location, but with plenty of elbow room. On
the lower level our parts and service department has a
walk out to display space for inflatables, with our
office and fully stocked store on the main level.
Our new centre is a focal point, right in the heart of
our marina's social hub nestled between our boater's
lounge and our events gazebo with the grassy area for
our social gatherings in front – all overlooking the
stunning scenery of the beautiful bay.
Highly visible from the water and close to our busy gas
dock our new centralized location makes it easy to
serve our awesome boaters as well as easily accessible
for our transient travellers just beginning to discover all
we have to offer.
Bright and inviting, the new store is three times the
size of our previous space so there's plenty of
inventory to see – and what we don't have in-store we
can order for you. Our customer satisfaction surveys
show many of you didn't even know about our
extensive on-site inventory. Now our visible,
convenient and inviting chandlery is hard to miss.
Shop the shelves or browse our catalogues to find just
what you need. And don't forget we price match every
day. That's the beauty of being a Parkbridge Marina:
our bulk buying power gives you substantial savings on
everyday products.
Be sure to join us for our Winter Wonderland Event in
February and our May Welcome Back Gathering for
your first visit to the new centre. But first we'll see you
at the Toronto Boat Show. Let's start dreaming and
planning another fantastic boating season.

Location! Location! Location!
Clean and Green
Looking for a new marina? It's hard to beat Bay
Moorings. Our survey results consistently comment
on the professionalism of our staff as well as our
amazing location. It's not just our prime front seat to
Georgian Bay and everything this unique freshwater
boating experience has to offer but also our
convenient proximity and easy accessibility to the
GTA. It's an easy commute and puts you on the
doorstep to a different adventure every trip. If you've
only ever cruised Lake Ontario and the Thousand
Islands, make this the summer you discover a whole
new world on the waters of Georgian Bay and the
30,000 Islands.
Our boaters are the best when it comes to recycling
and other green ideas. Your actions are a large part of
why we consistently earn top marks in the Clean
Marine program. This year we continue our
commitment to the most environmentally friendly
choices possible and will replace our in-ground fuel
tanks with the latest safety-equipped above-ground
tanks to help ensure Georgian Bay remains pristine.
Take an extra day to explore
When you've had an exhilarating weekend on the
water, why end it? Stay an extra day and check out
some of the exceptional excursions close by. Go by
boat and experience our local history at Discovery
Harbour or enjoy live performances on stage at the
Kings Wharf Theatre. Experience the trails and
demonstrations at the Wye Marsh Wildlife Centre,
step back in time with hands-on activities at SainteMarie among the Hurons, take a trip to Awenda
Provincial Park, travel to world famous Wasaga Beach
or simply relax on the beach next door. There truly is
no better place to be than Georgian Bay.

We want to say
congratulations to all
of our Bridge Port
staff and boaters for
making green
choices every time you are at the marina.
We all love the pristine water and gorgeous scenery
that is such an attractive part of the boating
experience.
You should know your environmentally sound
choices and practices that have become such a habit
make a huge difference.
All of your hard work and our combined efforts
haven't gone unnoticed.
In early June we were thrilled when Bridge Port was
awarded the Diamond rating in the Clean Marine
Program, something only four other marinas in
Ontario outside the Parkbridge community have
achieved to date. Way to go boaters!
Let's continue to be environmentally responsible and
continuously improve our ways each time we head
out on the water or spend time at the dock.
Here are a few ideas to get you started:
Source Eco-Friendly products for use on the boat
Place an absorbent bilge sock in your bilge to
prevent any oily water from being discharged out
of the bilge
Eliminate as much packaging as possible before
loading the boat to prevent accidental littering
(plastic rings from beverage container packaging,
plastic bags, etc. can have a deadly impact on
wildlife )
If you’re in the market for an outboard motor,
source a 4-stroke over a 2-stroke engine.

Parkbridge Gateway to Family Fun
Boating: affordable family fun
Ken MacDonald
Director of Marina Operations
Parkbridge is your gateway
to family fun on the water.
Did you know three of our managers hold the highest
marine credentials possible with CMM qualifications?
The attention to detail and unsurpassed customer
service is our focus each and every day whether it's
exceeding health and safety standards or achieving the
prestigious Diamond level eco-rating in the Clean
Marine program. Looking off the bow we're excited
for the future. Water levels are back to normal
providing magnificent cruising and gunkholing at
spectacular anchorages. We've switched up our guided
excursions. Last year we opted for two shorter
powerboat rendezvous and it was well received with
high registration numbers and vessels of all sizes. The
sheltered waters and shorter distances appealed to
many of our smaller boats who took advantage of this
experience for the first time.
You too can afford to get out every weekend on the
boat with family to enjoy fishing, camping,
watersports, swimming, relaxing – all from the
platform of your boat.
The Georgian Bay Regatta is the premier annual event
for sailors, both racing and cruising, on Georgian Bay.
GE
This unique event celebrates its 30th ANNIVERSARY
in July 2015. It combines both port-to-port distance
races and course racing for a great summer adventure
and family fun. Novice sailors will
GIAN B
learn the basic procedures from our
OR
Race Committee on Registration
Day, while introducing family and
friends to this unique event.
AY
Think boating is expensive?
With the popularity of
pontoon boats and personal
watercraft there are more ways
than ever to experience life on
the water. A robust resale
market for both power and sail alongside dropping
interest rates means there's no better time to put
yourself in the driver's seat. Life is just better on the
water. Here friendships last a lifetime. My kids were
always ecstatic when their 'summer friends' returned to
the marina – and you will be too. This is a fantastic
family activity and so much healthier than watching
TV or playing video games on a smartphone.
At Parkbridge we're pleased to see young couples and
families discovering the boating lifestyle. Our marinas
are responding with kid-friendly playgrounds,
Saturday morning children's activities, washroom
upgrades and swimming pools. Every year we reinvest
in our marinas to create the safest harbour possible
with additional security monitoring systems,
landscaping, dock rejuvenation projects, breakwall
rebuilding, new picnic tables, improved roads and
parking lot paving. Boating is affordable family fun. It
costs less than a golf course membership and is
cheaper than owning a waterside residence. Your boat
is your cottage on the water and the view changes
every day! Our convenient on-site Pride and Crate's
boat sales partners can help you find a remarkable new
or used vessel at the perfect price. All of our marinas
constantly strive to keep costs down. We have frozen
prices and we promise we have a slip for everybody.
Our boaters enjoy exclusive Parkbridge Advantage
benefits like free nights at other marinas, a 5¢ per litre
fuel discount and savings at area attractions and
restaurants. While big box marine stores pull out of
Canada we're expanding our chandleries and product
lines and we are still the price match leaders. Look no
further than our on-site marina stores for the best
prices on parts and accessories. Our open door policy
means our experts are happy to help. Thinking of
buying a boat? Need maintenance advice? Want to
know our favourite anchorage and how to get there?
Where's the best fishing? We are here for you. Stay in
touch with us through social media, our websites,
blogs, newsletters and special events throughout the
year. We are recognized as the best in the business and
we work hard, with annual recertifications.
