It is the only company in the USA that specializes in the complete process of ‘Design, Creation, Manufacturing and Marketing’ in bringing Hakoba Sarees to the world. Each outstanding design and color combination of Hakoba Sarees is originally created by owner Mukesh Shah. Hakoba means ‘fine embroidery’ in ‘white’ or ‘multi-color’ yarn with a border of about 4 inches on one side. The soft fabric is either imported Swiss Cotton Voile or Chiffon. Fujiyama Fabrics manufac- tures the fine embroidery in the USA in over a dozen different proprietary and registered designs. The Swiss Cotton Voile sarees come in a dozen different elegant and attractive colors and can be a perfect wear throughout the year. The chiffon sarees are ideal summer and party wear, available in a variety of different colors and prints. The Atlanta outlet has beautiful sarees in cotton voile, chiffon, double net etc, Punjabi suits, petticoats etc. The high-end variety, called Hakoba Classics, is a collection of sarees with intricate work that can be worn to weddings and big events. Hakoba Sarees are very reasonably priced, says store manager Narendra Mehta. That’s because as the original creator and manufacturer of the entire product, Fujiyama Fabrics has achieved the lowest cost metrics. Hakoba Sarees by Fujiyama has three branches in New York. The Atlanta outlet will soon have its own tailor to meet the tailoring needs of Hakoba clients, adds Mehta. The Senior Citizens Program (SCP) organized “Mata Ki Chowki” at Global Mall recently where seniors were treated to spiritually uplifting Bhajans, some with popular filmi drum beats adapted to devotional songs. Over 200 seniors attended the program. The SCP volunteers Chinti Bali, Jyoti Dama, Isha Goyal, Minesh Modi, and Aruna Patel and Raj Razdan extended a traditional welcome on behalf of the SCP to a packed hall, with New Year greetings. SCP also welcomed the seniors of the Bhutanese Families who have recently migrated to Georgia from Bhutan, and were attending Mata Ki Chowki. Surinder Bahl, a community leader associated with the Atlanta Chowki Group gave a brief background of the Chowki Group, which has been celebrating Mata ki Chowki for the past ten years. Through these Chowkis, the group preaches about Mata, sings “Jagrata”, motivates devotees all over the world pay to pay their respects through their prayers. The Atlanta Chowki Group is spearheaded by Inder Bery and has a team of dedicated, devotional singersInder Bery’s wife Kalpana Bery; Vinod Grover and his wife Santosh Grover; Harjeet; Kshama Kakade and Kusum Bahl. At the request of SCP, contributions from the Chowki was donated towards the construction of the Shiv Mandir in northeast Atlanta. New owner Nitin Vaidya has several years of experience at well-known Atlanta markets like the Dekalb Farmer’s Market, the International Farmer’s Market (IFM) and wholesale Indian grocery markets. Vaidya is excited about leveraging his deep knowledge and experience of produce and groceries to improve Global Groceries in the areas of inventory, service and prices. “We assure our customers a better variety of produce, frozen items and Indian grocery, including more name brands,” he says. “We also promise to match Decatur prices.” Apart from the groceries and produce aisles, Global Groceries also stocks puja items, cosmetics from India, fresh snacks like samosas, batata vadas, rotis, theplas, chapathis etc, and Indian sweets.
