Are you looking for creative new ways to market your business and network within the community? Endorsed by Dubuque Main Street, more than 20 businesses have banded together to create the Downtown Retail Network, or for short, “The Network.” Formed on the principle that small businesses need to stick together and help each other in this tough economic climate, the Network meets once a month to discuss topics relevant to downtown businesses. Topics have included how to get started with social media marketing, team advertising ideas with complementary businesses, and more. Network members vary from retail establishments like Crickets, to cafes and restaurants like The Naughty Dog, to specialty stores such as Cheryl Ann Bridals, McCoy Jewelers, and more! Various media outlets are now also involved, including the Juliens’ Journal and Radio Dubuque. Meetings are held at 8 a.m. on the first Tuesday of each month at the Naughty Dog, 1108 Locust Street. Anyone with a downtown business that could benefit from word of mouth marketing and networking is encouraged to attend. For more information, please call Sherrie Keating (Cheryl Ann Bridals) at 563-582-6930 or Jonathan McCoy (McCoy Jewelers) at 563-556-5325.
