The Blue Olives will rock the plaza at the
August 19 edition of the Dubuque…and All That
Jazz! free summer concert series under the Town
Clock. The Blue Olives feature sassy horns, killer
vocal harmonies, searing guitars, and funky bass &
rhythm sections. They are regularly booked at the
Chicago House of Blues, and on August 19 they
will make their Dubuque debut at Jazz! While the
band focuses on playing original material, The
Blue Olives still bring their tremendous talents
covering songs from musicians like Steely Dan,
B.B. King, Aretha Franklin, Chicago, and more.
The Senior High School Jazz Combo will
open for The Blue Olives, playing from 4:30 –
5:15 p.m. This group of talented young musicians
will wow the crowd and get the party started!
Food and beverages will start at 5:00 p.m. and
the main act will take the stage at 5:30 p.m.
Jazz! offers something for all culinary
palettes, including delicious dinner options
from local food vendors and ice-cold beverages
served by the Dubuque Jaycees.

on September 2 featuring Cynthia Layne and her
band. Even if it rains, there will be Jazz! The Five
Flags Center is on stand-by as the rain site. Listen
to Radio Dubuque stations (92.9 KAT FM, 101.1
The River, 97.3 The Rock, and 1370 KDTH)

updates if rain is forecasted.

installation, design, and more.

the art
locations in
any order by

biking or driving. The trolley will
travel to each art exhibit in a loop
throughout the night.
As most are aware, the Historic Millwork District in Dubuque is undergoing a major transformation, starting with
Complete Streets. Complete Streets are
designed and operated to enable safe access for all users. Pedestrians, bicyclists,
motorists, and public transportation users
of all ages and abilities are able to safely
move along and across a complete street.
Complete Streets make it easy to cross the
street, walk to shops, and bicycle to work.
The project includes complete utility
upgrades, street reconstruction, permeable
pavers to help alleviate storm water problems, enhanced historic lighting, seating,
and other streetscape amenities.
Below is the current construction
schedule for the Historic Millwork District
Complete Streets Project. This is a useful
tool for downtown stakeholders who may
be affected by these street upgrades.
