ROSEMARIE ALLERS - AR
Born in Buenos Aires, Argentina.
Throughout her youth she studies drawing, painting and
sculpture with sculptor Horacio Suarez, in Córdoba,
Argentina.
Later on she makes inroads into drama. She studies with
great masters in the National Conservatory of Scenic Art
in Buenos Aires.
She performs as theatre actress in Spanish and German
and goes on a theatrical tour in Latin-American countries.
This epoch leaves a significant imprint on the image of
her painting, to which at this time of her life she becomes
permanently devoted. She attends workshops of
noteworthy painters: Jorge Demirjián, Clelia Speroni and
Omar Tegaldo. She takes up studies of Art History and
Theory. Since 1988 she exhibits at important galleries and
cultural centres in Buenos Aires, Argentina and Uruguay.
In 1996 she begins her exhibition tours in Europe and
Asia: Participates as guest artist of Marlborough Gallery
representing Argentina in the «Montecarlo International
Contemporary Art Prize» in Monaco. Then continues with
a grand exhibition of her paintings in the Museum of Tokyo,

Japan, and also in the city of Fukuoca. Since 1998 she
proceeds on her tour over South America with exhibitions
in Chile, Brazil, and the USA. As of 1999 she exhibits in
important museums of various Argentine provinces. In
2001 she is asked to exhibit her works in Rome, at the
«Galleria L’Indicatore d’Arte Contemporanea» and in
Utrecht, Holland. In 2002 she exhibits at the Palais de
Glace in Buenos Aires, Argentina. In 2003 is asked by the
«Societé Imaginère» to exhibit at the Kulturhaus «Altes
Rathaus» in Potsdam, Germany. Upon this circumstance,
the Government of Potsdam invites again Rosemarie in
2004, due to her having given a present for the city her
painting «FALCON». The painting was considered by
the City Council as a link with the image of the Prussian
Eagle. Therefore, it was hung on a wall of the Government
House to remain there permanently “always in a place of
distinction” as promised by the Potsdam Government.
This is the first work of art that symbolises for them “a
feminine Prussian Eagle”.
In 2007 she participates in New York at the exhibition
called «Fuerza Argentinos» in SOHO 20 Chelsea Art
Gallery.
From 2008 to 2011 she continues with various exhibitions
in museums, galleries, and painting prizes in Buenos
Aires and other cities from Argentina.
Some of her works belong to several collectors in
Argentina, Uruguay, Japan, France, Italy, Chile, Colombia,
Belgium, Russia, Spain and Canada.

Artsist statement
Painting overnight
My painting does not belong to the kind of works you can
look at peacefully. As a matter of fact, I’m not able to do it
that way. I am selfish in art, I work for myself.
In my theme there is a tumultuous relation between
men and women, both generally stereotyped. In this
fight between sexes underlies always confrontation,
harassment and subordination. They make up a powerful
erotism, not at all idyllic.
Sometimes understanding and love happens.
So, with ambition, “fighting overnight” I intend to
represent my characters , my rhythms, my painting,
following the previous idea I had.
Bud suddenly “my hand” knows more than myself –and
it was something else- Something I was not searching
at all.
…And I paint… and so rises my real painting. Finito.

Artsist statement
The universe is radiant.
The conception of light began in stars. Originating the
code of light were hydrogen, helium and lithium. It was
this array, with various reaction sequences, that made
new elements of life possible in the early universe and
created the Milky Way galaxy. Not unlike letters in an
alphabet, chemical elements via astrophysics form a
language about starlight, and my fascination is realized
in several series, overall called Stellar Lingualumina.
In addition, other series concentrate on architectural
site mapping, for example, Quadrant Bearing, paintings
and drawings formulated from an angle at Sydney Non
Objective, or pay homage to literary texts that have
metaphysical underpinnings, such as, The Golden
Eternity by Jack Kerouac and The Rosy Crucifixion
by Henry Miller. Through meticulous editing and/or
‘dissolving’ some of the language and filtering the
essence, the work inherently is minimal.
Essentially, I am translating a magnetic attraction to light
in both inner and outer space. This attraction merges
design elements into a minimalist’s ethos to produce
a graphic style of imagery. Thoughts and ideas about
simplicity are entertained along with geometry, equations
and the esoteric qualities of numbers and colours. I play
with visibility and invisibility. I know that light reveals
the dimensions of space, (usually) in silence and with
grace.
‘Since the various materials in the Universe are only
varying coefficients of vibration, we build in this way not
only intensities of a spiritual kind, but, who knows? New
bodies, metals, nebulae and stars.’
The true art then for me is finding ways to build and
transmit intense information about how light in space is
a connector and a transformer – a transformative energy
– and, factored by time, a unifying processor of continual
enlightenment.

Title: ESSENCE OF THE ETERNAL MATTER OF THE
MIND, 2010
“ …re-recognize the bliss you forgot, the emptiness and
essence and ecstasy of ever having been and ever to
be the golden eternity.”
ESSENCE OF THE ETERNAL MATTER OF THE MIND
takes its title directly from a phrase from verse 14 of
Jack Kerouac’s “The Scripture of the Golden Eternity”.
Emanating a fragrance redolent of sandalwood,
clove and cardamom, the black of its convex form,
in alchemical terms, signifies individuation. The work
epitomizes an interstice of enlightenment.

Title: NEXUS – One Little Resurrection 2012
“...in the mind, worlds unclassified, undenominated,
unassimilated, form, break, unite, dissolve and

NEXUS – One Little Resurrection references and distills
Nexus, the last of three volumes that make up The
Rosy Crucifixion by Henry Miller. Localizing a seductive
perfume formulated with labdanum, frankincense and
mastic, the work is a moment of metaphoric coupling
where non-objective concreteness dovetails with the
invisible poetics of existence.

Artist Statement
“We consume and consume and puke, more than
fetishise the objects and information we use. We don’t
act inside or outside of consumer culture, entertainment,
or art culture, we consume and translate, we’re a byproduct of it.” Ryan Trecartin
“The (Grotesque) body swallows the world and is itself
swallowed by the world.” Mikhail Bakhtin
I believe that art should get lodged in the throat of its
audience, to make them think twice about what it is they
attempt to consume.
There is an idea of Inter-repulsion, a transgressive
paradigm which (according to Georges Bataille) outlines
the dualities between desire and filth, appropriation and
scatology, rejection and consumption.
My work concerns itself with the dichotomy between
the simulation of pornography and the simulation of a
utopian society.
The pieces I am proposing in particular attempts to
disrupt the symbolic order of meaning; a moment
where by rationality ends, providing no philosophical
speculation.
The sculpture transgresses its own confines, penetrating
external boundaries between itself and the world,
ceasing to ‘be itself’.
The sculpture is made up of purchased domestic
objects.
Keeping the work materially obvious to provide a lesson
in aesthetics, appropriation and scatology...(Scatology in
reference to George Batailles essay on ‘The use value of
D.A.F de Sade’).
‘’He (de Sade) understood too that our tastes are
motivated not by the intrinsic qualities of the object but
by the latters relationship with the subject.’’ - Simone De
Beauvoir, ‘Must we burn Sade’.
‘’A grotesque world in which only the inappropriate is
exaggerated is quantitatively large, but qualitatively it is
extremely poor, colourless and far from gay’’ - Makhail
Bahktin - ‘Rabelais and his world’.

Artist statement
Following the deliberate destruction of all my creations
in the late 80s, in 2009, I resumed my art production
after a long period devoted to opera decors and show.
In 2004, between two decors ,was born the “Little Red
Book”. A work virtual and dynamic (changing), consists
of describing with photo manipulation, despite and
optimism of few survivors of “the Apocalypse”. Then,
of course, I had the desire to materialize the “Little Red
Book” I have therefore created the “Mona Circus”, and
dynamic physical work. I situate my work in a postapocalyptic world where all would be to rediscover,
explore, understand, I called my art “Trash-Romantic”.
I use only salvage. Mainly dolls old pre-1930 that
refers to toys found after the bombing, explosions,
crashes or natural disasters. Men has disappeared,
the object has survived. I associates insects, plant
seeds and / or mechanisms of clocks used symbols
of work, arduous, time passes, irreversibility. I recycle
every scrap of my own in the next work or waking up in
small reconstructed imaginary worlds. All my work is an
evolving entity and intended to be transformed by the

TURN ON, TUNE IN! pag. 21
Ozmo alias Gionata Gesi, demonstrates his spectacular
ability to use different techniques and style according to
the context he is working in, be in a public area, urban
setting or art gallery, As a street artist he has to come
up with original style, combining graphic design and
illustration(sticker and posters) with art history references
(in some of his painted murals). In his paintings, on the
other hand, the artist adopts two distincts approaches.
The first, based on free association, consists in a
post modern interpretation of visual sampling, which
in this case gives rise to an artistic babel, a chaotic
accumulation of cross-references and citation. His other
technique is based on selecting images generated by
entering a keyword into an internet search engine. He
then mixes and interprets these existing fragments in an
attempt to come up with new meanings.
In occasion of his last project in march 2012, for the
prestigious Museo del 900 of Milan, located in the
monumental heart of the City, called ‘Pre Giudizio
Universale’, he was acquired in the great collection of
the Museum itself , as the first italian so called ‘street
artist’ taking part in such a institutional context and
definetly consacrated to the mainstream art scene.

Artist statement
From experimental play Dalila Gonçalves tests the
permeability of materials and processes of artistic
practice and daily life.
By using video, photography and installation she
conceives objects that do not always imply real
transformation of things but rather materializations of
subtle unexpected, ironic, absurd and metaphorical use
of matter. The subtlety of the information, the nature of
materials or the modus operandi chosen, play with the
very relation of “perception” and the idea of “evidence”.
These strange moments are, perhaps, the kind of border
between the physical reality and fiction which trigger the
mechanisms of feeling and thinking that give meaning to
art object.
I assess the hypothetical relationship established
between the sense a contemporary “vertiginous time”
and the time of production and artistic practice. Certainly,
as the life and art intermingle, as the artist belongs to
the world of universities, taxes, family and credit, as the
studios are no longer small islands, all that he produce
has, admittedly, something more of reflection and
mirror.

Artist statement
The nature of my painting is based on a dense and
resonant mixing French art and Russian avant-garde
art, the poetics of «Jack of Diamonds» on the free
picturesque St. Petersburg romantic expressionism. It
is very important to create a special tension between
the emphasis prosaic subjects of the paintings and the
color and compositional energy, which should occur on
the canvas. I do not do copying landscape or still life.
For me, it is important to see the space-time, to create
a self-contained world-in-themselves, to tell a story. It
is always present, even in plotless works. To do this,
looking at daily life, which otherwise seem mundane
and boring, see the archetypal features of the world, to
detect plastic formulas and color harmony, to find formal
and semantic rhythms, to create a local story common
themes of life in a given Euclidean space. And then there
is a particular attraction life dark and bright patches of
color on the canvas, and the interaction of divergent
lines, which are due to my own «non-Euclidicity» easily
and naturally can intersect at infinity, even though their
apparent parallelism of the original ...

Artist statement
My figurative works are introspective and meditative
interpretations of the human condition imbued with
a sense of time. My source of inspiration is the
dichotomy of existence; the brutality and the beauty;
the subconscious and conscious; the spiritual and the
physical.
Working in acrylic and oil paint, collage, and sculpture/
found-object assemblages, my creations range from
striking nightmare visions, breathtaking idealizations,
and haunting prophecies of human error’s toll.
My artwork explores the unspeakable nature of
consciousness and the experience of life and death.

DANIEL PEŠTA - CZ
Daniel Pešta was born in Prague in 1959.
During the Communist regime he moved outside the
official artistic and social circles. He changed his jobs
often in order to be able to dedicate his spare time to
his free artistic creations. Later he worked in the field of
applied graphic art, especially poster design, which he
had studied at the Václav Hollar Art College. After 1989
he designed a series of album covers for a classicalmusic publisher.
He engaged himself in graphic
arrangements of catalogues, receiving awards for book
and poster design.
In his free creations Pešta systematically develops in his
own unmistakable style. He dedicates himself primarily
to drawing and painting, in time he begins to experiment
with a wide variety of natural materials, such as wood,
paper, wax and leather.
In 1998 and 2000 he introduces his work at his
own exhibitions in New York. These study journeys
are the milestone for the author’s creative work and
subsequently bear fruit fully manifesting themselves
in 2003, when he moves away from painting and

begins to create with transparent acrylic materials,
working with photographs. He seals his older rolled-up
pictures into tightly-shaped columns, giving rise to the
“Genetic Codes” and a series of “dark assemblages”, he
implements conceptual projects, he films videoart. On
the front elevation of the Felix Nussbaum Museum in
the German town of Osnabrück he places a display of
a dimensional neon work. In museums of contemporary
art in Prague, Osnabrück and Solingen he presents
conceptualised projects on the theme of masks and
concrete figures. After a prolonged pause he partially
returns to painting.
Pešta’s works are exempt from aesthetic kitsch, often
hovering on the edge of raw naturalism. In the majority
of cases they reflect the social and political situation.
His masterful psychological analysis of the individual
or society at large impedes any pathos whatsoever.
The genesis of his works is subordinated to a precise
preparation, he progressively works on their final form
over a number of years.
Daniel Pešta has shown his work at dozens of oneman exhibitions in both Europe and America. He is
represented in important museums and collections, he
attends biennales of contemporary art. He is a member
of the Mánes SVU Association, he lives and works in
Prague and Frankfurt am Main.

ANNE PLAISANCE - PL
The Warsaw based artist, Anne Plaisance, is a free and
passionate personality.
Freedom in means (collages, sketches, travel diaries,
watercolor paintings, oil canvas, sculptures, installations,
pieces of writing, photos and video), as well as freedom
in subjects (women and society, memories, consumption
society criticism, etc..).
Under the apparent aesthetic of her artworks, the
brutality of the message, by contrast, is frapping and
questioning the viewer (for ex. “In Memoriam”, “the tears
collection”, “the draft”, “the maison close diary”..). Her art
is like and iron fist in a velvet glove.
Her works can be found in private collections in France,
Great Britain, Belgium and Poland. She’s member of
the “Positiveart” and “Young at Art” artistic groups and
became in 2011 a member of ZPAP (National Polish
Artist’s Association).

Arte povera cycle:
The “arte povera” cycle is simply criticism of our
society, based on consumption, which, taking in a more
revolutionary sense, is consuming our own children.
Trade marks as Louis Vuitton, recognizable all around
the world by consumers (we are not citizens any more
but consumers...), is an adaptation, like of many other
things, of their dreams and desires – closely guarded
by hordes of advertising, marketing & pr specialists.
This very symbol became synonymous with wealth and
social status. But what will it mean in a 100 years. Are
poignant symbols from our past still meaningful to us
today?
The “arte povera” cycle was presented the first time
during the individual exhibition “caprices” in Warsaw.
As in previous exhibitions, Anne Plaisance poses the
essential question, the answer to which lies entirely
within ourselves.
Artist Statement:
Simplicity is the ultimate sophistication. (Leonardo da
Vinci)
