IMPORTANT SERVICE BULLITEN October 23, 2014 Dealership Service Department Service Procedures addressing the following models: Backpack Pop-Up Campers manufactured by Palomino R.V. – Division of Forest River, Inc. Kit Installation Instructions for Remote Roof Lift and Non-Remote Roof Lift System: In our continuing effort to build a better product we have discovered that some infrared interference may engage the electric lift. This kill switch “On/Off” that is being installed per this bulletin will prevent frequency interference when used properly by the consumer. Please see Figure 1 for the current “As Wired” review. Reference; Figure 1 1. Orange Wire is Hot wire from source into the lift system. 2. Mark the terminal where Orange wire is hooked for reference. 3. Unhook the wire from the switch and leave free at this time. Owner Notification; Campaign ID Number: FR400-14-0004 Page 1 Continued Adding the 12v “On/Off” Switch will interrupt the power flow when used properly by the customer. Locate a position close to the Reico-Titan Switch and boar a hole to fit the 12v switch into snugly. 1. Drill Hole in panel or style to place 12v switch 2. Using included “Jumper Wire” connect Reico-Titan Switch to “On/Off” switch ensuring the connections are tight with. This wire should be connected to the “Off” corresponding blade on the switch. 3. Reconnect the Power Feed from the unit source to the “On” position of the new switch. 4. Reinstall the switched into the cabinet 5. Reinstall any doors, drawers, panels removed to get to the switch wiring. Reference Figure 2 1. Test to ensure that the system works as designed by turning the switch to the “On” position. 2. Run the roof up and down. 3. Turn the switch to the “Off” position and attempt to cycle the roof. If there is no movement in the roof, the job shall be completed. 4. Reinstall the switched into the cabinet 5. Reinstall any doors, drawers, panels removed to get to the switch wiring. Owner Notification; Campaign ID Number: FR400-14-0004 Page 2 For models with the Wireless Roof Lift Remote Option installed by the factory: 1. Cut the “Red Wire” from the “Orange Wire (Orange is Hot from source)”. 2. Using included bell cap and “Jumper Wire” connect the “Red” wire to the supplied “Orange Jumper Wire” and connect the jumper wire to the “Off” position on the switch. 3. Connect unit power source wire to the “On” position to the switch. 4. Reinstall the switched into the cabinet 5. Reinstall any doors, drawers, panels removed to get to the switch wiring.
